I am trying to understand the reasons why e-shop games don't work on Sky3DS

If anyone has a good idea about what's missing and how they can be patched then please let me know.

sky3ds is copy 1:1 of cartridge, games from 3shop needs kernel acces which gateway gives

So if I can get kernel access I should be able to make changes to the system to make them work?

Technically yes, but then you wouldn't need the Sky3DS anymore. Also, good luck finding an exploitable bug on new firmware version!

I have a 9.0 O3DS so there is plenty of stuff that would become usable.
Above all I want to play Harmo Knight.

Harmoknight was a huge disappointer. Shovel knight is better ;)

Anyway, I want to be able to play e-shop games on my sky3ds as well. Perhaps we could do that in a year or two :)

I like my Sky3DS card, I just want it to play some more games..
I don't really want to buy another cartridge just for a few more games.

I'll start looking through the kernel to see what I can find.
It can't be too hard to find the right places to patch.

Just a quick question, would these need patching in the ARM9 or ARM11?

You're going to need both ARM9 and ARM11. I think this is a bigger challenge than you realise. Good luck though.

basically you would need to patch out all signature checks and boot into a sort of cfw every time you want to play one........and if you really have the ability to make your own cfw you might as well go sell your sky3ds and make your drm free rom loader cfw

or you could ofc update and buy the game from eshop if its just the 1 game your after

I haven't been here very long.. but I can tell when someone is incapable of doing something just by the questions they ask.. lulz.

yeah i know, but he asked what he needs to do, thats it, make cfw with rom loader, thus making his sky3ds redundant anyway, i dont think anyone capable of just deciding to make their own rom loder on a whim for the sake of 1 game would've ever considered buying a flashcard except maybe GW for "research" purposes
