you had to put it out there! now nintendo is going to add some cartridge check in 9.7 that checks to see if the cartridge passes those tests, and if it does then the cart is blocked.

We already know it's going to be blocked anyways. My only use for it though is running the CN exploit on 9.2 of various regions.

There's no way they haven't known how to detect it for a long time already. It's suuuper likely 9.6 already detects it and stores that as a flag or something, though that's purely conjecture since I haven't personally looked into 9.6 much beyond decryption hax.

i havent seen 9.6 at all! And how funny would it be if all the people with sky who laugh in gateway users' faces about how the sky works on latest firmware. then they update to 9.6 and the system records that they use a sky.... a month later 9.7 comes out and the people who use a sky have their systems deactivated or something, and nintendo requires a $100 fee to reactivate the console.

BS, nintendo wouldn't block anyone's console, max they can do is to ban you from online playing, and if they do deactivate your system, trust me, they would have to give you a new console.
As for sky detection, it can be done, but it is not as easy as some here think, proof is that it is now blocked atm, is it?

I've never said you'ld be safe while modifying the system in any way, in that situation they can yes troll you. However, sky does not modify the system in ANY way, so they'ld have no justification to block anyone's console with a system update of their own.

well, its kind of like a softbrick that cant be fixed with a hardmod (which sky users might not be able to do anyway, since if they updated to 9.7 they dont have gateway, and might not have), but can be fixed by nintendo, if sent in for an unbricking. the reason the fee is $100 (which is really fair, because by using a sky you are probably making nintendo lose more than 100$) is because 1 3ds game is usually ~$40, and that means 3 games is ~$120. think about that... most people have more than 3 games... and thats games people pay for, which helps nintendo stay alive, and produce more games, so instead of lose money, stop them, then take only a percentage of the money they stole back. its more than fair, and its half the price of a new 3DS.
