Please '-'

You can dump your retail game without gateway. 9.2 or lower 3DS is still required though.

So I just got my N3DS working with gateway. Is there a way to transfer saves (with 4,5 save encryption) to a N3DS using something like save data filer and extracting and inserting the saves again?

Additional question: Can I somehow transfer saves and get around header problems? For example, extract a save from a no header game to a personal dump game?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Yes, just follow the guide here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...v-to-eshop-3ds-3dz-with-savedatafiler.380246/

Can I format emunand on a n3DS rather than the sysnand to unlink them?
You can do that, but format sysNAND is preferred.

Okay I am new to this whole Gateway thing, so I have the N3DS XL, the included 4 gb Micro SD Card, and 2 extra 32 GB Samsung microSDHC UHSI- Cards.
I read somewhere, that the 4 gb card is enough for the Gateway, is that true? And as there are 2 Gateway cards, I assume the Red one is for the games - so that's where I'll probably use the 32 gig card, and the Blue one is for what exactly?
And which card will I put back into the N3DS?

I have a 2DS running 8.1-19 (and Cubic Ninja handy): as far as I know only "classic mode" emunand is possible as of today, correct?

Quick question before I order my Gateway for my N3DSXL which is still on 9.0. I also have O3DSXL with latest firmware, but i want to do a system transfer to my N3DS, but obviously I need the latest firmware on the N3DSXL too. So my question is, is it possible to do a system Transfer after setting up Gateway on my N3DSXL 9.0?

Yes, the gateway is okay with only 4gb inside your N3DS. You can use the 2 32gb micro sd cards for the red card. The blue card was used for an older method so you don't need to use it. The sd card you need inside the 3ds is the 4gb one.

Hi, I have a 3ds with firmware: 9.5.0-022U . What flash cart, if any, will allow me to play 3ds backups / roms? I have looked at the wiki and other sources, but it's difficult to really tell what they can and can't do.. some things say they are compatible with this firmware version but end up not supporting 3ds mode when sources are cross-referenced, etc.

Basically, I'd just like a recommendation for what will work and be the cheapest or most functional (multi-ROM support? reliable support team? support for N3ds if I eventually buy one?), etc. Many of these things are difficult to quantize and so they aren't included in the information on the wiki like http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/3DS_Flashcart_Comparison . And I also don't know what information is really up to date.. some cart might say it's supported, but then later people discover there's a chance to brick the console or something and the wiki might not be updated.

Can anyone who knows about this stuff / has experience give a good, current recommendation for a flashcart that can play 3ds roms on a 3ds 9.5.0-022U?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Your only option is sky3ds since you updated to the latest firmware.

Alright thanks for the quick reply! Should I bother with any of the clones like QQ3DS, or stick with sky3ds? And, are any particular shippers faster than others, or it's going to take a few weeks to get to the US from China no matter what?

Well I guess sky3ds is better than QQ3ds, but that's just my opinion. You can buy from within the US so you don't have to wait weeks for it to arrive. Just look in the reseller tab from the sky3ds website and look for United States and just choose one of the resellers from that list.

parvulus I got my sky3ds today from 3dsgamerworld which ships from within California. It took 6 days to get here which was pretty nice since i'll be going on a trip this weekend.

Quick question, should I bother updating games? I don't plan on playing them online. Is it relatively safe to update the games?

Okay thanks again everyone!

Edit: by the way, I found that about 3/4 of the "US" shippers actually ship from china, with a low price of around 76 USD. The 1/4 that do actually ship from the US tend to have a price of around 90 USD, including shipping. So you basically have the option of an actual stateside shipper for ~16.. seems a little steep for me

Thanks for the answer!
1 - Was wondering if it's useful to install .cia files (is BBM even supported with the New 3DS XL + Gateway) ?
2 -How risky is it ? I heard if done wrong it can brick your system?
3 . And should I unlink the Sysnand from the EmuNand?

Ok, Noob here asking at Noob paradise. I have a N3ds at 9.0 and a Gateway, with cubic ninja on its way, with some questions:
After you do the one time QR thing, you have to run CN every time in order to boot the Gateway menu? And then if you want to run a game off Gateway you have to swap cartridges and play games off Gateway, right?

But what about .cia games? If I do the EmuNAND thing, and the BigBlueBox thing, I will be able to install .cia files in the 3DS and boot them up without the need of either Gateway or CN at any point? Am I understanding this correctly? Are the .cia files installed in the memory or microSD inside the system?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
