i stole one from my sister who only used her 3ds for smash bros(for my own 3ds)
and a second one from my stone age friend who is still on 1.0.0(for my blue 3ds)
I injected a region into my emuNAND, I have tried to boot 15 times, screen flashes then it freezes, I don't know what to do?

I am still confused about the whole process. I've been following the thread, but some stuff seems to be over my head.

I want to switch a US 4.5 3DS with a JP 8.1 N3DS. Is this possible? If not could it be in the future?

THIS is why i did not have any motivation to release my guide and tools any earlier

... What? Since when was this every announced?

i honestly thought this at the very beginning (like 2 months ago), but after a little testing i wasn't so sure...

Do you install the cias first? What happens if you don't swap the secureinfo? For example, install all the japanese cias and then reboot. Does it still use the usa firmware? Then when you swap the secureinfo, it becomes japanese?

if you just install the system titles from another region, nothing happens really, you have two copies of camera, two copies of system settings, etc etc (plus system titles in the background)
the fw still boots up in your original region, so yes, as soon as you change the secureinfo file though, it just flips the switch to load the other region.
if there is nothing to load up... black screen :)
you can play with it on emunand.

i'm not sure if i should link, but on duowan someone shared their CHN secureinfo publicly :)

Relax dude, dumb people do dumb things, you said like 100 times this is dangerous and always try on emuNAND first. You did a pretty solid job and if they think they're super hax0rs because they know how to dump a securefile, well, they're the only responsible.

i had a feeling that guy was headed for a brick.........nothing to feel bad about cearp stupid people will be stupid.....i mean even though i know what to do i wouldn't just go directly to "flash to sysnand".....and i have a nand mod, but yeah maybe it would be good if there was a more advanced member category on gbatemp where people can share more advance tools/methods without having to worry about idiots trying it and blaming you that they screwed up

Would've thought by now that everybody knows you can't just flash about anything to sysnand or install unsigned cia's.

Should of at least had the common sense to experiment with it in emunand first. Chances are, if you brick emunand, it will brick sysnand. You could have saved yourself the money and time if you tried to region change emunand first. I did brick a 3DS before, but I didn't jump the gun and blame some one else for it. Hey at least I got a nice nand mod out of it. Had it not happened, god knows how long I would have put off getting one.

:P

Now I can afford to do risky experiments where others would fear to tread and one thing I did learn is how to update a 4.x sysnand to 9.2 with only CIAs and do it in a way that won't brick. I wouldn't have gotten that figured out if I didn't have a nand mod. :P

If you feel to the need to the same...GET A NAND MOD... Plain and simple. Region swapping is definitely something you don't do without one. You might as well go to work naked. Because that's basically what you are doing if you try to region swap sysnand. Especially if you never done it before. So to top that off, you go to work naked to a job you haven't done yet while blindfolded. You gonna have a bad time. :P
