Hacking 3DS ~ NAND backup AFTER region change?

Hi, I got a really good deal on a new 3DS from aliexpress. The console was already modded and it was originally Japanese, changed to US region.
I saw that there was no backup on the sd card so I made one on gm9.
Is this backup considered safe even though it's a backup of a modified region changed NAND?
I'm stressing out because I don't have and can't get the backup of the original Japanese NAND.

Y tho..? What exactly were you planning to do with the NAND backup?

While it is good to have one, there are actually relatively few occasions when a full NAND backup is particularly useful.
