looks like 50/50 chance your OOT3ds cart will work though. People are having issues. Or has that been resolved now?

It's hard to tell if it "will or will not work" - I've noticed on my cart that it sometimes takes two or three times of pressing A before the GW menu will load. I typically wait for a queue in the music before I hit the A button which probably equates to 3-4 seconds. I've hit it on the first try each time after getting that timing down.

Users that state their card doesn't work may not know this or may not have tried more than two or three times, get impatient and just mash the A button making the exploit not work for them.

I'll chance it and get a Gateway. But just to clarify, I'm confused on the requirements. Do I still need "
†- A save dongle OR a friend with a original 3DS that can launch our Gateway menu"? Cause obviously I don't have any of that.
you need a retail zelda oot cart + A save dongle OR a friend with a original 3DS that can launch our Gateway menu........i don't think its too obvious you would have no friends :D

but basically access to a original 3DS/XL/2DS on FW 9.2 or lower, shouldn't be too hard to find, just ask friends, family etc, i doubt too many 3ds owners rush to update their consoles, so even if they dont use flashcards or anything you can still use their 3DS to flash the save

I sent GW team a very nice thank you letter...show appreciation people :o

As soon as it works with ninjhax.
I don't like to be picky, but that's not at all what GW promised. Appreciation of those that can get it to work right now is nice, but for the rest the proper reaction might still be rage.

i was going to write them a love letter too but i have no time left to spare, they had this exploit ready for months but they only decided to release it now because the gatewaiters were starting to move on & the thread here was removed by Mods to the edge of the forum. if anything those who deserve a thank you are the GBATEMP MODS. :)

as for the gateway team they are already getting the kind of appreciation they truly appreciate which is $$$$,hopefully now that the china new year is over their resllers have received their new stock. :P

It's also not finished. They said they are still working on it but instead of making us wait anymore, they are releasing a version that isn't finished but still works. How is that hard for people to understand? They didn't fail on any promise. They stated that is isn't finished and that it isn't how they want it yet people are bitching like it is the full, final release.

I'm pretty sure at some point they stated that you would not have to buy anything extra for GW to work on N3DS. At this point I feel it is safe to say GW lied to some degree. They have a working method, but it is not what the were saying it would be. People who purchased a GW based upon what they were saying "All you need is the GW cart" were lied to. They have no method beyond the OoT one that they would release publicly, that is clear now. It just took them months to admit it.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
