comex trusted certain people with it  , then it got leaked.

Not if you want to actually believe the people doing all the work for you ;)
Besides, we've already gotten over that drama, please don't bring it back.
Also, still working on timing issues. Now that I have access to a 5.0.0 Wii U 24/7 things should pick up.

So much speculation here... Comex didnt leak the common key, why would he?

As for the browser i doubt he did that either, unless you know something i dont....

Other people had the common key prior to the leak he wasnt the only one with access to it. It could have been anyone. The browser exploit was only given to a select few for beta testing etc before the leak of that. So theres only a select few who couldve done it. I honestly dont know if comex was one of those people or not...

If you look at the browser exploit linked, you will see that it is the ArrayBufferView overflow that Comex talks about in his CCC presentation. This isn't the leaked browser exploit that MN1 and NWP worked on. This is the exploit for an even older firmware than that. It is the exploit that Comex used to dump CafeOS and develop his IOSU exploit to get the common key.

I suppose it depends on your definition of leaked. I'll change my phrasing to "shared" rather than "leaked"; Comex shared this browser exploit and the common key with others.

Any news weather hykem got a wii u sorted? Or is he still lookin for donations?

Still looking for donations. For now we're using NWPlayer123's Wii U remotely, while he has it available.
I have spotted a low firmware unit that would be perfect for the job. Hopefully I'll get the money to purchase it. Thank you all for the help! :)

tbh the only reason i want the wiiu homebrew is for wiiu mods ssb4 and mk8 to get some open doors and of course to play old school emulators on the gamepad, i would be fine with someone finding a way to make the gamepad work on vwii aswhell any advance on any front is good to me xD.

I thought you had one but you hacked it up? Congrats.

I didn't take care of it tbh. I could've repaired it but I've since dropped the motherboard on the carpet more than once so its likely toast :'(. That's what happens when you don't take care of your own crap. I'm just getting a brand new one, make my life easier lol. I don't have the time to test every nook and cranny of that board to figure out if its salvageable between my two jobs and school. It will be much easier to work on Trinux without a flaky console anyways XD.

Jokes on me guys, lesson learned, take good care of your own s***. I always take the utmost care when working on other people's stuff (I have to, I'm a computer technician by trade at the moment as well as a Supplemental Instructor for an Intro to Matlab (Engineering Essentials and Design) class at my school, but when it comes to my own crap I tend to not give a rat's *** lol. Something I need to work on..... roflcoptaz.

Should be getting my new Wii U soon.....

Where can I donate? If you accept PayPal, I'd like to chip in.

If someone could update me on the current situation (who's working on what, are we any closer to an exploit, is someone missing something, are donations needed), I pledge $100 to the person who is actively working on an exploit and needs funding for whatever reason (broken Wii U, missing equipment, food & beer).

I can only do PayPal. I wish that person takes me up on the offer personally and I will post a screenshot of the transaction here to show my support. I really want to see a working exploit on the Wii U, whatever it takes. If someone gives me a comprehensive update on where we are right now, I may even up my offer. :) 100% serious.

I haven't been following the Homebrew community religiously, who is this Hykem person?

Is he sort of like the MrBean35000VR of console hacking? (Bean is sort of like a god in the Mario Kart modding world, for example.)
