Just updated my EZFlashIV using the 1.75 Clearlooks posted in this thread. My 2GB MiniSD still works, along with an 8GB MicroSD in an adapter.
I guess I got lucky my MiniSD still works. It is a Transcend brand. Maybe certain brands of MiniSD stop working, but others still work.

I haven't tested a smaller MicroSD card yet, as I dont think I have any that are less 8GB. I'll post if I find one though.

On a side note, This Clearlooks seems to be less polished than the last one I had.

All the description windows have misaligned words.

Misaligned text here too. I'm not sure hwat would cause this. It'd be nice if it could be fixed. I was gonna try to skin it myself but running into wall after wall. Is there some key combination that changes text size or something resolution?

Anyone knows where one can buy the black microSD version? I have only found it on flashlinker's website as a "pre-order".

I have an old white EZF4. Is there any reason for me to install this new kernel? Other than SDHC support, which in all honesty I don't really need, does it do anything else? Are load/save times faster? Is loading large ROMs into NOR memory still necessary? Is there still the 80 files per folder limit?

Theoretically the file/save handling might be faster but you would probably have to cook up a test to do it. Large ROMs to the NOR will always be necessary as that is a hardware limitation (running from the NAND is not going to happen*). 80 files per folder is still a limit as well, even if it was not I would probably still suggest keeping the things down to speed it all up a bit.

*I will have to check to see access times/read speeds of modern NAND actually.

So yeah if you have a setup that works for you then stick with it if you want to.

Anyone had any luck with the text? Mine looks the same.

Works like a charm. BTW I really can recommend buying from OP's shop. Fast shipping, very fair price and he updated my flashIV before shipping. It turned out super handy because I couldn't find myself a non SDHC microSD to put in my miniSD adapter. Props Rainer Benda ;).

I have a problem with my ez4lite deluxe + ezpass for DS and an ez4 for gba micro.

- For my DS: After I upgrade my ez4lite to this version, every time I boot my ds ez4 tries to update itself (this was happening when ezpass inserted). I tried to delete the update file, but this time it asks for the file after the boot. (I will try cory1942's OStools when my R4 arrives.)
I bricked my ez4 while I try to install a dump firmware.
- When I tried my ez4 with older firmware which I use for my gba micro on my ds, same update cycle happens when ezpass inserted.

How can I fix this?

Here's another version of the Clearlooks theme for 1.75! Below is copied from my sosuke post.
---
Here's Clearlooks v6, running on firmware 1.75! (Based on the classic GTK2 style, of course.)

I had to compile a modified version of EZ4skin to get it to work - it looks like they took out all the DS-related stuff and moved the location of the font file.

Can't even tell you how perfect this is, I'll ALWAYS prefer the minimalist look over whatever tacky default theme they'll use, and you have my thanks 100 times over!

On another note, I'm glad my old white cart mini sd version supports the latest kernel. I don't like being in a situation where having the latest fixes and features means buying a replacement item when what I have isn't broken. This is nice so nice with SDHC support, because I had done my share of wishing I could use an 8gb card.

I just applied this on my new black-case EZ4, and it works very well, thank you! I didn't have any luck customizing the skin using your R8 version of EZ4skin as it claims I'm missing dlls (not sure why, because you're only including stdio and stdlib...)

Even holding L and A to boot it?

Wow that worked! Thanks so much for the amazingly fast reply! Just curious, I've never booted a game using the L + A method, do you know what the is difference between booting a game this way versus just using the A button?

Traditionally/going back to the EZ3 it varied between soft reset and hard reset to launch the game, what one was triggered with what combo seemed to vary with kernel versions/bug reports.

For soft reset you will launch straight into the game, for hard reset you will see the Nintendo logo again.

The modulo reset loader and other ones branded reset force hard reset at all points, originally it was done to work around a bug introduced in a later EZ4 kernel which is why some people went back to an older kernel still if they did not have an EZ4 lite deluxe or need the other features (a GBA cart read mode so DS games would be fooled into thinking the GBA cart's NOR was the game they wanted/the user put on there). However most people pushed the reset hacked kernels as did most of the skin makers. With us now using the SDHC kernels though we were brought back into line with the EZTeam's present preference for soft reset.
