WTF why you think "If you want to use GW, you need a firmware of >9.3" ???
Clearly I mistyped. I obviously meant Sky3ds.

No. They are showing that they've gotten it working on a N3DS. That says nothing about whether they'll release it or not. Or even if it works on ALL of them, just some, maybe it only works on a certain hard-modded one. The point is that they just showed a demo. They didn't say "out now' or "out next weekend". They didn't say "this is definitely going to be released." They said "gateway 3DS working on a new 3DS system". I don't see why people assume that if they see something, that means it must be out within a week/month. If you see google's self-driving car, do you expect it to come out within the next 2 months? No. Just because it's working doesn't mean it's ready for release.
I don't see how what I'm saying is stupid. It's common sense. I've seen so many products shown off and then scrapped and never released. I don't see why a flashcard update is any exception. I'm pretty sure all of the flashcards had "update coming soon" on their page when they died. As far as Sky3DS goes, good for you. I don't own either card. I'm just tired of people being a bunch of babies complaining about something that was never promised to be released right now. It could easily be coming in April. All they've stated is that it's a work in progress.
They've already shown in a video that it does work on the New 3DS.Take a look at this guy. Excuse me, but do u even have a N3DS? Or are you just trying to be mister "i am grown up, but at same time have a childish avatar at a forum thats all about games"
Please shut up, no one wants ur lectures. "Take it up with my butt, because he is the only one that gives a shit"

Of course they won't release the new update until the New 3DS is out. They have to make it compatible with american consoles first and they'll only be able to do that when they can get one.
That seems to be the way it is. There is hope that it could work on US consoles, but nobody seems to know for 100% certainty what firmware revision the retail units will ship with. There's also no way to know if it will be 100% compatible with the US hardware (Sounds a bit silly, I know) I think the Gateway team is in a bit of a jam because if they release now and it doesn't work- they've pissed off customers. If they wait until launch to release they can at least do damage control and prevent some unfortunate scenarios. For example: A bunch of people buying Gateway or preordering new 3ds consoles just because of their update, only to blame gateway for their pre-emptive buying. If that doesn't sound possible, look how many pre-emptive importers did that exactly and are already complaining that it's taking longer than they expected. They've already shown in a video that it does work on the New 3DS.

That's mostly how I feel, having preordered an EU Majora's Mask N3DS- mostly impatient to get the darn thing (although slightly worried that it will be >9.2) and I have an old 3DS (4.2 US ambassador), a 3ds XL (4.4 EU), and another 3DS XL (9.2 EU) in case things don't work out with the firmware version. Gateway has never let me down in the past (Though I am guilty of pre-emptively buying one on the promise of multirom "soon" and it taking ages to be released)Ordered a PAL N3DS myself, I have confidence that Gateway will release soon. Hasn't arrived yet so I'm more impatient for the N3DS itself, but even then if I want to play games I still have my old 3DS which works just fine and was actually able to get downgraded to 4.2 from 9.2. Gateway has shown enough at this point that I think my money is well spent even without an N3DS update yet.

They were talking about supporting 9.2, not the New 3DS.Many people seems to miss the following gateway post:

We recently reached a major milestone and now we are happy to announce that we are in the process of finalizing our support....
They were talking about supporting 9.2, not the New 3DS.
I work as software developer and when i say to my boss "finalizing" then he expects the software/update in day or two not MONTHS!
My boss: You said finalizing...
Me: Oh sorry, by that I meant that i first need to fix other bugs then beta test it and after that I will start working on the software you asked for
My boss: Wtf!
Me: Soon
My Boss: What is soon ?
Me:.....
My boss: WHAT IS SOON?
Me:...around the courner
My boss: You are fired

Except we aren't firing GW,
because they are the most capable at this point.
Damn, you should sell off your Gateway. That'll show them!
What about those who bricked their consoles?
Hmm, i was under the impression that if you start a new game like Pokemon Omega Ruby, you will need to download the latest update from the eShop. Which would require you to be on the latest firmware to access the eShop?
Unless you have already updated prior to the firmware update, then that might be when your scenario comes in. Or i think you could wait for those cia repacks to be released.
Who bricked their console and why?
