Keep telling yourself that, this year Gateway didn't even bother posting a "Happy New Year" message.
Yeah, they haven't posted Happy New Years message. Seems that they are very busy.

True
But if it does turn out to be a Gateway clone, why not try to implement support for 9.2 like Gateway is doing right now?
A 3DS doesn't have DS hardware soldered on the board.
When you launch a DS game, it runs a Simulator (Have you ever used Virtualbox on PC?) which stores, basically, the DS software.
If we could modify that simulator to run roms not from a cartridge but rather from somewhere on the SD card, and boot it from the 3DS menu, then we could have DS games in essentially one card
pretty sure smealum had AGB_FIRM fixed in his 4.x "cfw"....so if you can get gba FIRM mode, i don't see why DS mode wouldn't also be fixableThat's not entirely true. Both systems use the ARM architecture (the ARM9 in it is mostly just a faster version of that in the DS). It underclocks them and (since ARM is very backwards compatible) there really isn't any need to emulate the CPU side of things at all. It is basically the same thing as GBAs containing GBC compatibility and DSes containing GBA compatibility.
Running DS games from the SD card shouldn't ever be possible because entering TWL_FIRM mode shuts off all 3DS specific hardware.
tbh im not 100% sure he did have it working, or just said it was possible, but remember DSiWare runs in TWL_FIRM and that's running from the SD card as a eshop download....fixed TWL_FIRM, plus dsi rom packing could be just as good........but in all honest i would say they probably just have the card work in dual mode....maybe with a switch, maybe it just auto switches to 3DS mode when in emunandBut did he run GBA ROMs from the SD card?

If we're being honest, then the DSTWO+ could just as easily be a Gateway clone. They simply expect the new exploit to be out by February so they can release their cart. We also have no idea if this is from the same team that made the DSTWO or not.
There's only one certainty: all will be made clear in time.
At that moment flashcarts will probably be obsolete. There's nothing they do that can't be done natively, and we'll get to that point eventually.at that moment the flashcarts on the market will have the best homebrew compatibility.
We already have CFW which doesn't need flashcardsAt that moment flashcarts will probably be obsolete. There's nothing they do that can't be done natively, and we'll get to that point eventually.

Based on their reputation they will emulate a legit 3DS-card, just like they did with the original Supercard and like Sky3DS does (?).Seems unlikely, that's not a lot of time to get a hold of what Gateway has done, modify it to make your own and then produce, package and ship them all by the end of February. Plus, why would they announce February if this were true, without even knowing when Gateway will release their update. If I were to bet on this, my money is on the idea that DSTwo+ is different and not a clone, especially given the credibility of the team that made the original DSTwo as it is.
A sudden thought crossed my mindYeah, exactly, and I'm sure soon it'll be ported to 9.x once GW's exploit is out.
Well everything Gateway has ever made has been cracked eventuallyA sudden thought crossed my mind
What if Gateway is spending all this time to guarantee an exploit working O
So you have to pay if you want their services
