the new gateway,we never know when it will breakout,so I suggest sky3ds ,the price is reduced recently, just about85 usd,it is a good choice to buy now .http://www.sky3ds.com/reseller.html

This is good advice, because sky3ds is much easier to use than gateway and it works up to and including 9.4, so you don't have to worry about updating (at least for the time being).

My 2 cents is that it is definitely worth it if you have a 3DS that supports it. If you can stand the wait (days to weeks) then you should still consider it over the Sky3DS. With the lack of needing ROM-manipulation software (just drag and drop), no 10 slot saving issues, CIA installation, emuNAND, homebrew, RF, etc. it is the hands-down winner.

And just a side-note: you can back up your sysNAND without a GW if you are on 4.x by using the GW Launcher.day and creating an emuNAND then using emuNANDTool to back it up on your computer. Make sure to back up your big SD card's contents first. Afterwards you can use Panasonic's SDFormatter to reclaim the full space on your card if you wish.

I don't want risking bricking my 3ds.. that's why i haven't bought the gateway yet... I am looking at software hacks but seemed complicated
Tbh, dont worry about it. Personlly i would go for gateway, as they archieved way more than sky3ds, and in there are no known bricks with their current launcher ( if used normally).

Exactly. Pretty sure that remnant of silly code is off the 3DS. As long as you follow all the instructions properly, it'll all work out.

who?

that'd be awkward.

I don't really remember but there was guy that kept whining about bricking in one of the topics about gateway, after asking him a few questions he admitted he never use gateway and he's pissed because he was selling clones and had to deal with angry people.

ok zero bricking reports with the currenct launcher; for how long has it been out? (the current launcher?)

if it does brick, will gateway pay for my shipping and duty charges costs?

2.7 has been out a couple of weeks.

You will have to email GW about shipping and duty charges. "Soon" will be the likely response.

don't buy a gaitway yet.... the update hasn't come out yet and waiting for it, with the flashcart right there with you, it'll kill you man trust me

I would absolutely NOT buy a Gateway until they PROVE that they can follow through on their promises.

If you're in such a hurry, just get a Sky3DS. You can't install CIA's or play games from another region, but it's really your only choice right now. There's nothing else out there.

it depends on the firmware of your 3DS.
V4.1-V4.5 Gateway 3ds surely;
V7.x-V9.2.x ,recommend to wait somedays (maybe gateway new release will come out very soon)
V9.3.x-V9.4.x, SKY3DS surely

I'm honestly concerned with how someone can be labeled a fanboy when the thread is created with reference to the Gateway and its features. The Sky3DS does literally nothing aside from enable cheap kids the ability to be cheap. You literally only get games with it. Outside of that, there is and will be nothing more. With the Gateway, you get a sea of features, and surprise, surprise, that's what OP is curious about. Literally every feature listed in the OP is something only the Gateway can do successfully with little to no issue. None of the listed attributes are found on the Sky3DS. A literal 0%.

Also, the vulgarity and display the Sky3DS team or supporters are showcasing in this thread (coupled with their lack of usability) is why they'll never see a dime from me.

At least when Sky promises something, they deliver......

They promised one thing and have not changed since. They do nothing outside of one single thing. They're the purest definition of a one-trick pony. Gateway has promised numerous things and given them to us, albeit, they've taken awhile to get them out the door. Them taking their time to perfect things is not the same as mentioning unfulfilling promises.

At least it's out there ready to use. How about all that money Gateway took from people after they were trusted. People bought new systems BECAUSE of Gateway and now they STILL haven't delivered. Explain that.......

Explain what? Gateway promised something and have not recanted on their word. They've promised things in the past and have delivered. How is this any different? The comparison between Sky3DS and Gateway is as abysmal as it ever could be. Sky3DS is literally doing nothing amazing that the Gateway team hasn't already perfected. Honestly, once Gateway gets their 9.x update working, Sky3DS will be gone the way of the R4. It does nothing aside from allow you to pirate games from within your region. Why would anyone buy one when Gateway, a team with solid credentials and a competent development team, has promised much more? People didn't buy an R4 when they could've gotten a CycloDS unless they only wanted to spend $4 instead of $30, but not even Sky3DS has that – their card is 30% more expensive than the Gateway card when it should be cheaper for its lack of usability and functionality.
