Hello all .. Go easy on me.. I am a noob to a lot of things here.. this forum, the 3DS, and the sky3ds..
I have been playing with gaming hacks for years, including my favorite hack for my Wii of os 4.2u :) which im still happily using!!
I just purchased a 3DSXL and animal crossing from the store..
and was playing it for a bit..
I have since purchased and received a Sky3DS card, and copied several ROMS onto it.. 4 in total..
including a ROM for animal Crossing.. all the roms I copied work great...
Super Mario 3d Land, The legand of Zelda, and a couple others.. however every time I try and run animal crossing from the sky3ds, it goes to open, and I see the little train on the bottom right then I get "An error has occurred" power down by holding the power button...
I have reset my entire 3ds, and reformatted my sd card thinking maybe it didn't like that I had actually used a card first, and then switched to the sky3ds backup copy of the game..
Any help would be awesome, thanks.

not familar with the specifics of how sky3ds saves work.....but did you happen to trim the rom?

animal crossing is a card2 game an as such won't work trimmed (atleast with gateway)

Hey guys, thanks for the replies..
so, Is it trimmed, I do not know. I DIDNT trim it... I downloaded it from two different sites... the file size is the same as another game that does work..
and I have re-downloaded it from a totally different site, and tried again, as well as formatting the card and reloading all the games on it from scratch.. still no good..

i know animal crossing is the game with the biggest save size of the 3DS, and the same error happened with animal crossing on gateway before they added card2 support.....idk im pretty sure i remember someone saying it worked for them on sky3ds but idk....maybe they have messed up in the template file or something as

actually is there any chance you have a fake SD card? that would probably result in a similar error and explain why some games work but not ones you added afterwards as fake SD card only have a small usable space on them say like 1-4gb.....it could be that animal crossing has gone over the real size of the card (assuming its a fake)

test out your SD with H2testw to rule it out

im a bit of a noob, I apologize if this question is stupid..
gamesquest1 when you refer to a fake SD card, are you referring to the SD card being used in the sky3ds?? or the SD card used to save game data??
the SD card used to save my game data, is the card that came with my Nintendo 3ds, and the sd card used in my sky3d, is one they sold me when I bought the sky3ds card..
Serious_Heavy, you say you cant see where the problem could be, that you were going to try it.. did you try it, and it work??
when you guys are talking about the 10mb save and the 1mb save, im assuming that's the space needed on the game save SD card in the Nintendo 3ds, not the sky3ds??
keep in mind, I mentioned, animal crossing is a game I actually purchased, played for a few days, prior to received my Sky3ds
hence when it didn't work I also factory reset my Nintendo 3ds, and started everything from scratch, in addition to reloading all the games back on my sky3ds
thanks guys.

i mean the SD that goes in the sky3ds card, lots of fake sd cards online so if you bought it online and it was cheap odds are its a fake......just test it with h2testw on your computer, that will let you know if its a fake SD card....also just so your aware your save is also saved on the microSD

just wanted to say, i read up (this may be unrelated, or the exact problum)

sky 3ds 10 game limit is because they have to save to the cart itself, they can't save to system data, and they had ishues saving to SD card. if save data was to big, it would corrupt all save games, thats why there is a 10 game limit, so that won't happen. in reality all carts have no rom limit, but the saves would corrupt if you had a bunch of games with big saves.

as of YESTERDAY, they releades a new card that fixes this. its change game button is blue. it can save to the micro sd instead of cart, so it allows for infinite games. for those who own the previous carts with a red button, no worries. it turns out they released a program (already in english) to fully fix it for the rest of us.

so now all edition of the sky3ds card can hold infinite games without save corruption. as to how this relates to animal crossing, it has a expecially large save.so that might be part of the problum. as for how to do it, the instructions are kinds big, and look like they went through google translate, so i'd wat maybe a week for a actual english instructions to pop up for it.

also, another solution that worked for a different game. the template itself may be the isshue. try using a older template instead of the very first one. like go you the 1.0 template and see if it still bugs out on you.

Very curious as to how this works with the new Sky3ds blue. Or with the red updated with the new 10+ games program. Sky3ds sounds like a pretty good solution for us who don't want much hassle, but only if it truely works with every game.

It seem that latest template and diskwriter have issue with Animal Crossing New Leaf games. And ACNL Game have issue loading at "EEprom=Yes". Try using old writer (Sky3DS DiskWriter [11/06/2014]) with the old template included at SKy3ds website.

1) Delete any existing old ACNL from your sky3ds card using the latest writer (Sky3DS DiskWriter V1.04 [12/09/2014]) from sky3ds website.

2) Switch to the old writer (Sky3DS DiskWriter [11/06/2014]) with the old template included and write the ACNL game (Game to be burned should not be trimmed or backup by diskwriter) to the sky3ds card. The game do not need to be hack by sky3dsctool from sky3ds website. It seem that the old template already set to put the game in "Eeprom=No" after write complete using old writer.

3) Once ACNL writing is completed. Insert the sky3ds card in your console and power on.

4) When you switching to the 11 game. Look at the screen of your 3ds to see your game starting to switch. Wait until the ACNL game appear. Once appear, without any delay hold on to the red button for 5 second and then release. The blinking light will flashes non stop but your ACNL game will remain without automatically switching to the next game. Now click "A" button to launch the ACNL game without any issue. Remember when you end the game, make sure you save and press home and close the app. The blinking light will still flash non stop which prevent you from skipping to the next game. One method I try is to enter setting and from setting exit out back to home screen by pressing "X" button and it will switch to the next game. The game work for me and save still remain.

5) Remember only use the old writer and template for this ACNL train loading fix.
