Im still trying to understand those a bit more too, but from the look of things they are very similar if not completely to a .wad file in relation to the Wii (AKA Wii Channels). Again though, I could be wrong.

Hi, i am newbie on the 3ds scene, and i got basics questions:

Based on previous Getaway uses, (and let's suppose that this update support emunand):
Do you think it would be secure enough to give it to a child (7yo-not-smart-princess-peach-girl) without any risk that she mess up the getaway support by updating the console (with wifi, or games)..?

In such situation, is it more safe to use a sky3ds?

I actually wonder why they don't communicate more with their community. A more constant stream of news would be mighty welcome.

I agree on that: it's Christmas soon, and we dont even know if they're working on an "ASAP update" or if they 're planning to release it once the n3ds ll be available worldwide (~in 6 months)...


PS: Can't wait for Christmas! (didn't decide which linker yet, but the µsd is damn ready!)

So i was thinking maybe theres a way we could us ninjhax to update to 9.2 without using nintendos servers or something. like if theres a way we can download the update file now and then hold onto it for when nintendo puts out their update and then run a homebrew app that installs that shit. yeah boom. put that in your computer and code it.

I want to buy the amazing n3ds LL super smash brothers limited edition from nippon yasan with the FedEx Priority 3-4 day shipping (atleast thats what it says). I am scared that it won't arrive in time to update, and i'll be stuck with a useless thing

Their SSL implementation appears to be very secure, at least based on the server's configuration.

I would honestly not risk it at this point. Nippon-yasan will not update a console for you before shipping, and they will take at best 2 days, likely 4-7 days before actually shipping it. It's only then that the 3-4 days for Fedex Priority start counting. In other words, you could order today and receive it as late as Dec. 22. (For some reason they instruct Fedex not to deliver on weekends...)

Someone on this forum has one of those and I think it came with 9.1 on it. Don't quote me on that.

I ordered on monday 1, they shipped on friday 5, the ship begin to move on saturday 6 and i'm still waiting for it, it'll come on wednesday. I will not risk now.

I hope that nintendo doensn't know where the exploit entrypoint is, so they can't correct it untill the GW update is out.

We don't know if gateway supports emunand on 9.X system menu, and sky3ds we know for sure that doesn't support emunand (and there isn't already clones from sky3ds without the stupid 10 games limit?).
And sky3ds and their clones won't tell you now, but it has a high probability that they won't work on future updates (maybe nintendo will block them already at 9.3, we'll never know until it gets released).
So yeah, with this in mind, right now, both have the same chances of not working when a new update arrives to 3DS/New 3DS.

There's no logical reason gateway wouldn't support emunand on 9.x.
