OK so I thought that it was included in the december 2011 update but apparently it wants to "download" the data and I don't want to let my 3ds online sine the r4 I got can't do emunand sadly so I'm not going to let it online unless I have it.

Mii Plaza updates are only available via spotpass. You might be able to use an earilier version of the GW firmware to create an emunand and download the spotpass updates without worry about firmware update nags installing to sysnand. I'm not sure Find Mii II needs a minimum firmware (which you could get with a rom update to emunand) or an eshop title update (no way jose).

Nintendo said that it was included in the firmware update of december 2011 and that's sad to here as I'm pretty sure all of the r4i gold 3ds deluxe firmwares that were confirmed to work with the card that included emunand had the bricking code in it.

Why not just use MT-Card's firmware for emunand? You don't need to have their flashcard inserted in order to run it like Gateway's.

I'll go look and make sure that it doesn't require a hardware update before I even attempt it.

Edit: Nope it doesn't work, yeah it works basically but it won't do nand backup, don't ask me why but apparently they have some sort of check in it to make sure that the system is an mt-card to do the emunand so I guess the r4 will never get nand backup then.
