So I take itthere isn't any tool to compress it where it can still be played? Kind of like DreamShell for the Dreamcast?

Oh well, thanks for the info anyway.

Are you talking about compressing GameCube games? in DiscEX if you put this command in CMD (in the folder path) : DiscEX -c nameofthegame.iso , you will get a compressed ISO, it is very useful with some games like Luigi's Mansion , it goes from 1.35GB to 186MB! but some games break...

There are only very few specific games that break when shrunk, you can try Gamecube ISO Tool as it works perfect for me. Remember to check the compat list if you want to avoid problems.

v1.116(and 117) broke the compatibility of
"Prince of Persia:The Sands Of Time(NTSC)"
(black screen). v1.115/114/113.... were all no problem.
I can confirm this.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time NTSC-U - Black screen on boot with garbled/beeping audio.
Medal of Honor: European Assault - Stll giving me black screen on both after ripping again and getting a full iso.
r1.117

does FST and shrunk ISOs have the same issues?

I thought FST is just an extracted form of the full game, I imagine it to be the same but can anyone confirm? I'm wondering because I'll use FST for the problematic games if thats the case.

So this one should work again for those family (0x21) wiis, its the exact same patch, now I think I just found a way for it to let the power button work again on both normal wii and wiiu, so all console versions and types should now have a working power button with this:

I can boot my games fine now, no weird error this time around.

And about the power button, now it shuts down with a simple click, I don't need to hold it for 5 seconds like on the normal revs.

And BTW could you take a look at games that don't work specifically on the family Wii, like Spyro: A Hero's Tail?

Last question: What do you mean by (0x21)?

I think 0x21 are the GPU models for Wii Family Edition.

I just tested it, it works perfectly fine (almost makes it hard to say if it's any different to the previous revisions lol) but as gabriel said, now I don't need to keep pressing the power button for it to power off, just pressing it once is enough.

So, this r118 doesn't affect the power button for Wii U, it is in the same status than before...
it does remenber when you got a freeze and you had to unplug the console? now you dont just tap the power button and the wiiu will restart, it will restart in wiiu mode but better than unplugging the console much better.

Yeah, I know that, I was saying in the first power revision, r113 if I don't bad remember, and in that revision it goes to Wii U menu too. It is the same.

Did you test that during a game freeze though? It's possible that the changes in 113 only worked after holding the button pressed, now you just need to press it once.

Edit: maybe the thing was just about how it works with the Wii, and he mentioned that it works for both consoles just to make it clear.

Wait, so with Wii U we no longer have to unplug to reset??

no if it freezes just click the power button once and it will restart the console you can shutdown from there or enter vwii again to try another game since it resets in wiiu mode always.
