Hi GBATemp members. Nice to meet all.:) Sorry for selfishness but.. If you can, please help.
I've been having problems with a few games.
They are NTSC-J and my console is PS3 Slim 2501B, NTSC-U.

I have an HD monitor with HDMI :
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VS247H-P-23-6-Inch-Full-HD-LED-Lit/dp/B005BZNDS0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403685830&sr=8-1&keywords=asus 23.6 monitor

This HDMI Cable:
http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Meters/dp/B003L1ZYYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403685031&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi cable

I have tried this already:

The recommended fix from Sony. "Solution: Change the [Video Output] setting to 16:9. The game visuals may appear distorted."

And a PARAM.SFO edit of the resulotions numerous times.

My own inution and tests and guess but still no fix.

I set HDMI to automatic.

I can't try the Resistance workaround because I can't buy a disc right now.

I have tried using three other different video ouput settings from the menu which display but still does not fix error.

I did game fixes in multiman. BD Mirror ,internal ,external fixes.

QA flag was enabled and disabled when I tried this no fix

I have tried different CFW Rogero 4.46 and 4.55 and Rebug 4.46.1 REX

All other games work no problem expcept these few.

BDEmu is also enabled.

Tried disabled too.

Did all these methods again on a Samsung 27" HDTV at friends house.

Tried different audio settings...=/

Tried Eboot fixes

Tried installing updates for the games (pkg's)
________________________________________________________________

I believe these games are all installers for the actual game. They are PSP HD Remasters. Except one.

If you know anything else I try please let me know. I would try to edit their eboots but I don't know how and there is little to no tutorials on this subject according to my Google searches.
Getting a NTSC-J console is out of the question though.
Thank you.

Here are the games that are giving me these problems.

Naruto Shippuden : Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (BLES-01764)
Eiyuu Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki the 3rd: Kai HD Edition ( BLJM-85006)
Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki SC:Kai HD Edition (BLJM-85005)
Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki FC: Kai (HD Edition) (BLJM-85004)

Thanks for reading this and thanks again for the help guys. :)

The PS3 isn't region locked, the only game on the system that is tied to a region is Persona 4 Arena as far as I know, so region of the games definitely is not the issue at hand. Have you verified the CRC/MD5/SHA-1 checksums for those releases to verify that they are proper dumps?

Do all NTSC-J exhibit that issue?

Have you tried the composite cable?

Does anyone else you know have those PSP masters working? The compatibility is sort of hit and miss.

Thank you so much for your replies Foxi4 and gunner007.

Sorry, but may I ask how to do so? Because I not at all familiar with how to check the checksums of a JB folder.

You should check the checksum of the actual release AFAIK. To do that, all you need is an MD5 calculator of some sort, alternatively you can check CRC32 directly in WinRAR. If all other NTSC-J games work perfectly fine and those don't, I would probably put the blame on the individual games and not your setup. If you have proper dumps, you will require specific fixes for those games. It's also worth to check if they'll run when using Composite or Component cables rather than HDMI, just to be sure that it's not a problem with the release, but I think it is.

Hi, No, only the ones I listed at the end of my post.
Yes, I have tried two different composite cables, one made for HDTV and the one that came with the PS3.

Yes 4/5 Japanese members on a site/wiki got it working flawlessly with only BDMirror, Game Disc, and Internal checked. All with Rogero 4.46.
Also on their wiki they have a compatability list. These are listed as compatible in the list and working CFW with 4.40 and up.

I suggest cross-checking your games with a scene release list, for example agbx or NFOHump - you should find all the information relevant in your search there.

Hi, Foxi4! Thank you so much for your continued help. :)

I wanted let you know that I feel that I have solved my problems. Allow me to explain.

Those games, 3 of them are basically PSP HD remasters. In other words you can treat them normally as any other PSP remaster.
So, what I noticed was that if I used aldostool the "PSP2PS3" program, it would solve the issue. Well, after I converted those games from JB to ISO.
As for Naruto, It was a fault on my part. I deleted it'S BLUS EBoot.bin and replaced with a BLES Eboot.bin of the same Naruto game.
I fixed this by just downloading an already made Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst JB folder.

By the way, I think you are very good troubleshooter when it comes to the PS3. You were very helpful and informative when you came to help me.
Please, keep up this good work. You are very good at it. Thank you very much for your strong patience with me.

I'm glad to hear that you got at least one of the games working as intended, I had a feeling it was something wrong with the image in question. I'm also sure you'll find working releases of the PSP remasters, but if PSP2PS3 works for you, that's alright as well (although you'd probably benefit a lot graphics-wise from the remastered versions - I'd keep looking for those). You fixed the problem yourself, no need to thank me. :P

Enjoy the games! ;)
