Hey Friends,

Hope you're doing well! I’m looking to set up a dedicated system for PS2 emulation—something that feels like a plug-and-play console I can hook up to my TV and use with my DualShock 4 controller.
I already own a PS2 console with HDMI output, but I’d prefer something more compact and convenient that boots up quickly and lets me browse and launch games easily.

I’m not interested in portable consoles—I’d rather sit in front of the TV like I do with my PS4, PS5, Switch, and PS Vita TV. I’m also not trying to emulate anything beyond PS2 (so no PS3, PS4, or Switch). Budget isn’t a concern, but I don’t want to go overboard if it’s not necessary.

I came across the Mini V1 Mini PC, and I’m wondering if it’s powerful enough to run PS2 games at full speed. Do you think it’s a good fit for that purpose?

Alternatively, if you know of a plug-and-play console or mini PC that’s already set up for emulation and works well with a controller, I’d love a recommendation.
Ideally, I want something that behaves like a regular console—just plug it in, pair my controller, and play.

EDIT: The Whole purpose of my emulation is honestly because two games GODHAND, OURUN CTC and Mortal Komabat Shaolin Monks.

if it has ddr4 memory chances are it will work no issues with ps2/3 as for one thats already set up use retroarch

To be totally honest, I haven’t bought a PC since around 2012, so I’m pretty out of touch with specs and setups these days. When you mentioned DDR4 and RetroArch, I realized I might need a bit of a refresher 😅

So just to make sure I’m following—if the Mini V1 has DDR4 memory, it should be good for PS2 emulation? And RetroArch is the software I’d use to run the games?

Would that setup give me a console-like experience where I can just boot it up, browse games, and play with my DS4 controller on the TV? Or would I need to do a bunch of configuration first?

Appreciate you helping me navigate this! Edit: $158.00 Good deal for what I'm looking for?

if the mini has ddr4 (tbh ddr3 should work also tho i stick to ddr4 )its should run without any issues ( apart from the usual odd game that crashes on any emu)

Thank you—I’ll move forward with the purchase. It’s sitting in my cart, but I’ll wait a few more days before pulling the trigger, just in case anyone else wants to chime in. Really appreciate the input!
