Nothing substantiated. Bandai Namco is supposed to be unveiling a big surprise at their expo in July, and Digimon still has a surprisingly large fanbase in the US considering its age. It's mostly speculation between Romsstar and myself, though. It would be really cool to play Decode, especially since a patch like ours is all but impossible for the 3DS at this point.

....or is it....

I have already extracted the 3DS files... the format is mostly the same as the PSP game except they now support Zlib compression on files.

That's interesting, perhaps you should talk to Romsstar via a private message then, I'm sure he would be interested to hear more about that. If it's possible, we have both said that we would like to translate Decode. If you can make that possible, we'll give our best, I'm sure. I'm just a language guy, so all the programming issues go over my head.

I pm'd him in February and he never replied...

NOTE: It's still not publicly possible to run modified 3ds games.

Well, I sure hope so. Last week E3 was a huge disappointment.

I love all Digimon stuffs. I remember spending hundreds of hours playing Digimon World 2 ten years ago. It's my favorite Digimon game. Digimon World 3 was also a great game but DW2 most likely left too big of an impact to me back then that I dared not compare it to other digimon games. It's probably the PS1 game that I spent most hours with. Unforgettable memory.

I recently also finished Digimon Adventure game. I watched the first anime season a couple of years ago and it surely bring back many memories.

Everything has been translated, and we have officially made the first round of edits to all of the main storyline cutscenes. That leaves us with editing the game's emails, a few sidequests, and the NPC's dialogue. Then we'll need to playtest everything, and make a second round of edits based on that. We're closer than we were, but there are enough things that could go wrong that we have no plans to give a release date at this time.
I'm so excited I might pee.

So after this, the next project might be Digimon adventure?
I remember reading something about it on the blog, but I'm too lazy to look right now.

I sincerely hope not. I know it makes sense but there is much translated material referring to this game on the internet and I think there are more interesting games around needing attention...

My guess is the Digimon World Re-Digitize: Decode, if the translation isn't announced and such a thing is possible for this same team. (Cuz it's the 3DS.)

Even with the translation getting close to release I still can't help but cry that we aren't getting RustTyrannomon, Titamon, Ophanimon, HiAndromon, Chaosdramon, among others... God I pray everyday that Bamco will localize Decode. I'd buy 10 copies of it and and rub them against my body in joy.

And then the cycle would repeat with Cyber Sleuth... Except I doubt it even has a chance of being localized since nobody buys the Vita in the west.

Lol you and me both. But the new Digimon aren't even the only issue.
The improved storyline, the better gameplay, the Digitter, the Mansion Game, the "Bodyguard" Function.
So much stuff that is missing. redigitize is still a great game but yeah I totally understand your feelings.

Yeah I didn't look much into it because I couldn't play it, and there's almost no coverage of the game whatsoever other than new Digimon and some of the added storyline bits like new characters. Heck there are barely any gameplay videos of Decode on Youtube. I didn't knew there was so much stuff added besides that.

Bamco actually localize 3 games for Vita this year (Tales of Hearts R, SAO and One Piece). Also I heard that despite the low hardware sale, Vita software attach rate is actually quite high.

There's still hope.

Unlike Digimon though, those three tittles are related to things that have gotten a huge following recently. The tales series have been brought for the most part rencently, excluding spin-offs. Sword Art Online was a one hit wonder series, it got a huge cult following similar to Attack of the Titan (perhaps Bandai might also localize the 3DS game later on, who knows). As for One Piece, well, it's friggin One Piece, the number one anime and manga in Japan, it's also really popular in Europe (dunno about the USA), and that game will be released for several platforms, not just the vita (so, if the Vita version doesn't sell a lot, they have the other versions to cover that hole).

Digimon however, has been badly managed in the west. The english dubs are crap, like seriously, they are bad even compared to the old ones, and lastly, they don't really advertize it, something that they used to do a lot back in the 90's and early 2000's.

Oh there is lots and lots of stuff, with beautiful references to Digimon World 1, which are alas missing in Redigitize.
Don't get me wrong, Redigitize is still a great game, it's lots of fun. But Decode does every job better.
As an owner of both games it's extremely frustrating being able to translate the first without having the possibilities for the latter.
But sooner or later the 3DS will be fully hacked, roms will be playable and then we'll be there to deliver, unless it's gonna be localized by then.
Although I might have one or two little surprises once Redigitize is finished... And make no mistake: It WILL be and it's almost there...

It's comments like those that make me check the thread everyday to see if there's anything new. x'D

As for the 3DS remake, I'm guessing it would be much easier to work with given that most of the script and stuff are already translated from the PSP game, although I'm still hoping for the localization, I'd love to own an European copy of the game with original Japanese voices (usually bandai is nice enough to leave Japanese voices in Europe).
I really want Omnimon X too. >.<

Great to know we can count on you guys if all else fails. Makes me pretty damn happy.
