Hello!

I don't ever really post anything but I've been lurking this forum for quite a while.

In all those threads about the latest 7.2.0 firmware all people generally advise against updating since it blocks access to emunand system settings and e-shop doesn't work anyway.

Now this may be a silly question, but is there any other reason not to do that?

AFAIK changes done in sNAND system settings are effective in emunand aswell.

I'm not sure if I got it right, but isn't emunand using an SD card as opposed to the system nand stored in console's internal memory? So, doesn't it mean that I could just wipe out all data from SD card and start over by creating a new emunand partition via Gateway menu? Please clarify, maybe there is something I do not understand.

Why I ask that is because my emunand is 4.4, so I don't have an access to few basic things like internet browser etc.

Have you ever used settings in emunand? If not then it doesnt really matter if you're on 72. or not.

I updated to 7.2 and it sucks. Don't do it.

I have another SD card around here with 7.1 but too lazy to look for it.

How does it "suck"? I'm on it and I've had no issues (aside from the obvious settings/eshop thing - which are bound to be fixed by Gateway).

... And can't you simply reformat your SD card, effectively erasing emunand, then just re-do emunand, so you'll be on emunand 4.5...?

That'd be horrible! This will remain a scare for me.

Schrodinger's Cat is nothing to be afraid of. You just need to have enough patience to wait until we know for certain. The last statement from Gateway about it seemed more hopeful than doubtful, as this is something that Gateway has know about since Youtube was updated to 7.X encryption. They'll figure this out or else their product will be losing utility as each new 7.X game comes out.

Above all else, you just have to Bolieve! (bad wrestling joke, I know...)

Not too scary. In fact, some scientists believe we create our own reality using our thoughts! (It got kind of out-of-hand with those The Secret kiddos who took it to a whole new level and made the scientists who believe in such things look moronic) but yes, it's a very viable theory at this point-in-time.

What I am afraid is that the coders of Gateway will hit a road block, and then this service will be disbanded and no more support.

From here on out, let's all FEEL as if an update will release soon. Together. Let's all imagine seeing them update their site, and really FEEL what it'd be like to see that.

Who knows? Maybe it'll happen. B)

So the Setting application on EmuNand is crippled? Does that mean that the EmuNand data/time setting can't be changed?
That is kinda important for animal crossing or other games that use the internal 3ds data/time

It's important to cheat on Animal Crossing?

So, could somebody confirm if you can revert back to 4.1-4.5 emunand after updating it, if you format the SD card and repeat the whole process of setting up the Gateway?

I know that E-Shop does not work. The only reason I would like to update is so I can use the internet browser. When I attempt to use it on emuNAND 4.4 the message pops up "The internet browser will become available once you update your system via the internet". Isn't the latest emunand necessary for some games like pokemon aswell? I'm sorry, I am still quite new at this and after going through dozens of threads, FAQs and other tutorials I'm still pretty scared not to mess anything up.
