Okay, so I've been having this problem with mother 3 and I have been searching for a solution for hours upon hours on end and have found none. So I came upon this forum to hopefully find some help. So this is what happens. When I first got my EZ4 I did everything on this: http://ezflash.sosuke.com/wiki/inde...o_Game_Boy_Advance.2C_GBA-SP.2C_and_GBA_Micro website and I started up mother 3 and it said "PSRAM is not enough" so I looked it up and someone said to press select and the 'a' button then try and that did not work for when I did (and still do) that it says it erases a bunch of stuff then it says 'writing' and there is a number gauge beneath it escalating. After a while it reaches 255mb and stops for a while then disappears. When I try to click on it again it continues to say "PSRAM is not enough" and if I try to write it again it says "Not enough free space" What should I do? I heard some talk about trimming and/or goomba and I have no idea how to do this. Oh, and btw Mother 3 is the only game I have at the moment. Thank you guys in advanced! I hope I can get this fixed.

When you say you are clicking on it again do you mean in the same place in the SD folder? because when you write a game to NOR (the select and a thing) it will create another rom with the same name in the default file browser directory place, so when you click on disk there should be a folder with SD card (where all your roms would be kept) and below SD card would be the game that you did the select and a thing with in your case mother 3, you have to click on that one and not the mother 3 rom stored in the sd card

also did you purchase your EZ flash IV recently?

Standard EZ Flash IV has 128mbit psram. Half the size needed by Mother 3. Games like that must load from nor.

EV Flash IV Lite Deluxe is the version with more psram. However it was released in DS Lite size, not officially fitting a GBA.

Wait..okay. So this is what I do, I go to the disk then there is a folder called 'SD Card', I go into that and there are folders called 'GBA', 'SAVER', and 'System Volume Information'(Which doesnt seem to do anything) the I go to GBA where the Mother 3.gba is stored and i write it and when it's done (in the same folder) I click on the mother 3.gba. Is that wrong (I really hope so) and yes I am very new to my EZ flash IV xD

When you first launch the EZ4 you come to a menu with icons on the left. You press a on the top one and it takes you to another screen, you press a again and it takes you to the contents of your SD card. That second screen is where the copy of mother 3 will be sitting.

If you have a recent EZ4 and have changed the skin you might have to change to a new one as the NOR chip was changed for the new batch from last year.

If you got a new EZ4 then quite possibly.
Some of the later posts in http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=15263 and http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20397 might be of interest.
Okay, so I downloaded the clearlooks v5 and I wrote the game and it took a considerably longer time than usual but it worked none the less! Thank you so so so so so so much!:bow: I just have one more question though xD..How do I actually make "bookmarks" or saves to the cart because right below the file manager is a selection called "bookmarks" Do you have any idea how that works? Thank you SO much you really helped me a lot!

The bookmarks stuff is just a hangover from the EZ3 era when there was a text reader inbuilt, you can still read text files but I usually suggest people use a homebrew text reader... or just about any other device.

The firmware numbers mean very little emmanu888
Still there are probably six things of note

The modulo RESET loader. This is what most people used as it fixed a bug in the DS mode of the last loader for the old style EZ4s.
The last official loader. Can work a bit better with some of the functionality which the reset hack breaks.
The last loader for just the EZ4. The lite deluxe and lite compact line introduced the bug in DS mode, however using this does come at the cost of a few features including the ability to fake a GBA cart for DS games.

The three new loaders. There was a new batch of EZ4s last year which most have dubbed the 2013 edition. As the EZ4 was not exactly using the latest and greatest when it was first made you run into the issue of how chips are being made for. To this end the team switched up NOR chips and with it had to make a new loader. This is the one people were talking about downloading, renaming and other stuff.
The EZTeam made a minor update to that at one point to "fix some bugs" though I am not sure what they were.
There has since been another update without a changelog.

There was a bug in the new loaders in that some games wanted hard reset to load (soft reset does not always work to boot, we can discuss that another time). The only real differences between the loaders is that they were actually recompiled so Kuwanger's fixing and skin fiddling programs had to be rejigged for each of them. However Kuwnager's tools (some python scripts and general patches if you want) do fix the reset issue, allow some skin changes the normal skinning options do not allow and are not compatible with all but the pre lite deluxe loader.

Ok, I'm new to this clearlooks v5. I downloaded it and tried to extract it to the root of my SD card, I've tried to change the skin too and don't know the steps to do so (still have a star wars skin). Can some one give me a brief step by step walkthru on the process of what I have to do to play Mother 3?

Also I noticed that [V1.740] is now at the top right corner of the screen. Could it just be the rom
??

to change a skin you need to flash it, skin is inside eziv firmware, so you need to change the firmware...

clearlooks comes in 2 versions, 1.72 (reset) and 1.74 (new NOR) you need to know which version is your card if you bought the card recently from a store, change is very high is the NEW version, so you need to flash it with 1.74 version, otherwise your card will not be able to understand the NOR memory...

to flash it, you do just like a firmware upgrade, change the file name to ezfla_up.bin and press R while the console is booting

then delete the file from the mini sd card and there ya go, new skin.

as for the mother 3, you put the rom in the mini sd card, select it and press Start, this will copy the game into the card NOR (internal memory) and then you go back and it will appear on the main list

  2. OK, I loaded the new skin into the eziv. I know how to put the rom into NOR memory, that was no problem. But after trying both v 1.72(reset) and 1.74, and writing the rom to NOR I still have the same problem... White screen. I bought the eziv last year, and I know the rom works because I've played it on my Wii. The rom will load to 255MB before going to the NOR storage. What am I doing wrong? I've followed all the guides and still no luck.
