yeah, i downloaded a lot of them ;) the one i tried (bravely default), gives me a 3dz error, so i guess they started cleaning their dumps before this one :)
i bet we can see where it cut off, as in find the latest rom from HR team that includes the header, since that means all the previous HR dumps before it would presumably work.
well a lot of them recieved *propers* or *clean* versions even after they where released so you would need to find the original releases not the "fixed" ones

So does this mean we have to wait until people release their original card dumps made through Gateway 3DS before we can actually play online with it? (If it's being shared that is).

Make sure its your own dump and its been renamed to .3DZ
Hold L when you press DS Profile mode in settings and it should bring up the gateway menu. That's where you can use the save backup

If I rename to 3dZ and try to load the game I get: Invalid 3dZ

Grrr... I cant get my Mario Kart save to work with my dumped game.

The save just has to be the same as the rom name right? Or what do I change?
What I did was create a clean save with the dump and then checked what the save was called on the SD Card. I then changed my dumped save to the same name and deleted the clean save

If I rename to 3dZ and try to load the game I get: Invalid 3dZ

Is that your own dump?

Somebody earlier had the same problem but fixed it by changing the name of the save to the TitleID number.

the save is the same name as the title number of the game, or something.
create a save with the game, then see what the file name is, and then just overwrite it.

who will want to share their own personal unique data with the game?

Is that your own dump?

No, but like I said I don't get if I get banned.

I'm honestly new to all this online play & retail dumps. The only reason why I'm asking is because of what they mentioned on the Gateway website:

As always, use online play at your own risk. Since online play is linked to a genuine Game Card, we do not recommend that multiple users go online with the same game dump simultaneously as it will most likely result in a future online ban.

So with other words, the online feature is still a bit worthless for those who grab a copy of the game :). Unless I'm wrong here, feel free to correct me.

sure, useless for people who cannot dump their own games, at the moment :) but maybe soon someone might make a tool to patch the rom to generate a header etc, that let's us play online. i wouldn't be surprised :)

all he means mate is that, to go online you need a dump that was done by gateway, as it has the extra data.
when omega was released, some roms were uploaded that were made with gateway (since previously, only people with special hardware could dump games)
so these dumps would work online, since they have the special data, but then people who were dumping via gateway releasing roms started to wipe the extra data to make it more like a 'proper' dump :)
so sure, a few games after omega came out will have the data, but not on purpose

I understand you but he quoted roms from the internet so what I am saying is which ones, he should state because I have tested many of the net all after 2.1 was released and not one worked with me so I think he is talking rubbish/trolling!

Well I used Gateway's own incomplete real-time saving in an attempt to prevent the SD card from being written to by ejecting the red cart. I'm in the process of putting my old scene rom back on my mSD to see if I was able to prevent the overwrite. I'll report back after my recovery attempt.

gamesquest1, my recovery efforts yielded good news and bad news. The good news is that I was able to prevent the initial overwrite by ejecting the cart, so I was able to make a backup. The bad news is as you mentioned, the personal dump will not read the scene dump save no matter what I do. Therefore, I'm going back to my scene dump of Bravely Default until Gateway or someone else releases a workaround for such a glaring oversight on GW's end.

It's not a glaring oversight, the save is encrypted to the specific cartridge id.
so what id is being used for games that don't have the extra header data...? and can they be (with the scene as it is at the moment) be 'reworked' to change id? or is that what the aes mac is needed for :)
