-snip-

It's nothing special.
Just.. simplistic, the way I like it c:

Why do you have a task killer? They shouldn't help much at all.

Anyways, here's mine.

I just like to free as much RAM as I can.

More RAM used = more power consumed n what not.
As Sicklyboy has stated, coldbooting an application uses more power, since the CPU has to work harder to launch it. You should be more concerned about CPU usage rather than RAM consumption.

Not true. With Android it uses more power to cold launch a program than it does to restore it from memory. Android is actually a bit decent at its memory management.

Well the only applications I use frequently I dun kill.
But things like solitaire and such, which I usually only play when I'm in bed dun have to be stored in memory a whole day.

If you press back instead of home, most games and such will actually close instead of staying in memory. Pressing home makes it think you are going to come back to it, so it keeps your place in the app and stays in memory.

That's what I always do, pressing back that is.

Like I said, most games do that, some don't and yeah they might stay in memory. Just saying. :)
In that case yeah a task killer is alright. The launcher I use lets me go to the app settings when I hold on an icon, so I can force stop things right from there for the rogue apps.

Simpsons stays in memory, since I use it pretty much every hour ;p
But things like solitaire I only play when I can't sleep, seeing that takes up unneeded RAM, I'd rather free it

Unused RAM is useless RAM. Android will automatically suspend software when it needs more RAM for another application.

Exactly. It's like having a big warehouse and only ever using one small corner because you don't want to run out of space, which won't happen anyway.

That said, I was somewhat intrigued by the sideways battery icon but knowing what DinohScene is like I didn't dare scroll beyond the status bar.

-Custom beige theme (made it myself.)

Damien Rice playing. Damien Rice notification menu theme. Beige theme matches the Damien Rice theme.

Overall my phone's just a giant tribute to Damien Rice.

On another note... why can't I resize these...? Can moderators do that for you? I'm lazy.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
