I have downloaded 2 e-shop games on a 3DS with 7.1 firmware and I am looking to transfer those 2 games
onto another 3DS device which has 4.50 firmware and GW3DS-7.1 firmware.

My question is, is this possible? What other things are transferred during a system transfer? Is it safe?

And if it's safe, which firmware should I transfer it to? The original with 4.5 or the Gateway 7.1 firmware?

pls respon

EDIT : Bad news.

The system transfer worked fine, however, when I went into GW3DS-7.1 on my 4.50 system and entered the e-shop to download my pre-bought games it asked me to update my system. I exited, double checked I was in GW mode by rebooting the system and entering it then updatd my device. It updated my actual firmware. I did a nand back up thankfully, now I need to undo this. :'(

I have the same question as well as a few other things.
If I have a retail save file that is released during v4.5 and under, will the save files that I saved on the v7.1 console be readable on the v4.5 console?
Pokémon retail save file from v7.1 won't be retained on a v4.5 console, right?

Uhm...can u tell me how u want to go to System Transfer in emuNAND?

Afaik as soon as u hit the System Transfer-Button, the system reboots before loading the tools, forcing you back to sysNAND 4.5 and so wants to update your real NAND.

=> you can't use system transfer without updating real nand....

Doesn't crash on mine (up to date emunand, 2.1 omega). I successfully used it to transfer a dsiware game from my dsi. This was before I realised I couldn't run dsiware, but never mind.

Only games released with or before 4.5 Will be able to use their saves.......not 100% sure about eshop versions but it should
I'm prepared to lose all my save files except Pokémon, and I will need a solution to transfer my Pokémon to somewhere first before I transfer.

You should be transferring from 7.1 sysnand to 7.1 emunand (do not switch the sd card, since you need the emunand partition on your 4.5). Also, you'll be losing ALL your save files since you can't switch the sd cards.

As for your pokemon...pokebank/poketransfer...? Sure they're a hassle to use but at least it's cheaper than getting another copy of pokemon so you can trade yourself)

The new version of Pokébank/Pokétransfer doesn't work with emunand by now. So the OP is stuck with trading with another copy on another system.
I say that if you really want to use original games and backups, you should maintain 2 consoles for now, when the emunands solves those kind of problems (mainly encryptation keys used on system menus higher than 4.5) or if there's a custom system menu solution, then you can try to use only one system.

I had Pokemon as an EShop download and I did a system transfer to Emunand and my save works fine. Just be sure you copy the 3DS folder from the 3DS you transferred from on Emunand after you do it.

If you had a nand dump prior to the system transfer, could you fo the following?

-Dump the Nand
-Do a System Transfer to 4.5 Emunand
-Back up NAND on Original DS
-Have 2 copies any software from 1st 3ds

I'm planning to backup using Powersave. My Pokémon game is on a retail cart.
Since I'm not planning to play Pokémon again anytime soon, I might leave it untouched until they solve the problem.

Also considering this because things can go wrong if they ever decide to detect Emunand.
Don't really want to keep two 3DS though since I don't really care for gamesaves for games other than Pokémon or Streetpass.

Not sure as supposedly the registration keys for the games are erased during systransfer.

You could try...

  1. Clone your 3DS SD Card (3DS#1)
  2. Nand Backup (3DS#1)
  3. SysTransfer to 3DS#2
  4. Restore Nand to 3DS#1
  5. Move 3DS#1 SD card to 3DS#2
  6. Restore clone of 3DS#1 SD card and reinsert into 3DS#1
  7. See if it works.
  8. But this should be a one time only thing, you can't buy additional games and make then "copy" the new games to both consoles.

You can do a perfect migration from realnand 7,1 to emunand 7.1
Just do the System Transfer.
The Emunand 3DS will reboot back into realnand.
When it says something about the transfer, just power off.
Turn it back on, then go to emunand.
Emunand will have all the transferred items.
Yaaaay.

It had been banned from 6.3.
Before 6.2, it was workable.

Sorry to hear that. I heard you need to open up your 3DS to do nand flashing or something, but I am not entirely sure.
If this is how it works, I plan to maintain my 7.1 sysnand 3DS as someone suggested.
