I still plan on using my xp system because its my main one for music at the moment. Everything I use I could migrate to a newer computer
if I wanted to, but I havent really had the need or want to. Not to mention my machine is off line, and I've never did any d/l, and would only
connect it online for updates, I see no reason why it shouldn't still be fine. Not to mention my machine says its vista compatible, but I think it might be
a little slow for win 7, or win 8, then again I got a similar machine with twice as much ram that runs windows 8 and runs it quite well so I'm not sure whats up.
At the moment though I see no drastic need to change/upgrade. I've already did all the linux's so its not really a big deal to me anymore. OSX is my daily
OS, and windows is my audio rig, so thats about it. I might get brave and dual boot my win 8 machine with a linux distro, but not sure if I want
to do that on the main hdd or the second one. I've been successful with doing it on xp and win 7, but had trouble when I tried it on windows 8. I had success rolling 8 back to 7 with mint dual boot, but then had trouble trying to dual boot win 8 and mint. So I'm not even sure that win 8 and linux play nice yet. I love
xp for all thet legacy stuff though. Never really tried the windows 7 xp compatibility mode, and I dont even know if windows 8 even has that. It was fun while it lasted.
I'll prob use it until my computer goes out and I'm forced to upgrade. Of course hopefully that dont happen cause I'll lose all my music then I'll be screwed ;(
