So not only did it it take over 1 month to arrive, it came without its sticker even on.

Okay, maybe it'll have working firmware on already.

Nope.

Instructions... Nope.

I've tried countless different guides and the very furthest I've got is an error message telling me to hold down the power button and reset the device.

This is what I have:

The site I got it off was proclaiming to sell the real deal, obviously I have some r4 clone.

Could anyone here please shed some light on this situation for me please?
Do you know if / how I can get this working, I'm on firmware 7.1.0-15E.
I'm quite good with computers in general so you don't need to explain any of the jargon or spend to much time helping me.

Thankyou for reading, sorry about the anger.

You need to update the firmware on the cart, which requires a console that can actually run the card in the first place. Your 3DS is too updated to run it.

Best bet would be to find a buddy with a less updated system or a DS/Lite and run the firmware update for what you say you have, the 2013 model.

Okay, so would any ds lite do?
Also would I need to have wood on it and run the nds file?

Yeah as long as your cart has 2013 in the top corner, and it IS from THAT SPECIFIC SITE, then yes, that ought to be the proper one for it.

While it isn't from that website it is that specific product, thanks for all your help!
Just so I can assure anyone I'm borrowing a DS from. this has 0 chance of bricking anythign right?

No, you're not going to brick anything.

By the card being from "that specific site" I mean that has to be the site that is printed on the front label of the card. If that's not the site that's on the label of the card, it's very unlikely that it's going to work.

The site printed on the label has been closed down but I heard that their work has been continued by the site I earlier posted, so I think I'm all good to go...

That normally means that the new website bought the blueprints of the chip/ copied it and continues to work with them while the old website moves to a new hardware base.

But it's great that everything works now.
