Hacking Rebug 4.46 to 4.50/4.53

I'm on Rebug 4.46.1, is there a way to spoof to 4.50 or 4.53 (optional)?

i jumped ship to go to rogero/cobra. there is a very simple method to spoof if you do change over. you will have all the same features, just more. when you see what its like to use webMAN you will be pleasantly surprised.

grab bitsbubba's Cobra CFW Tools and Rogero/Cobra CFW.

To spoof to 4.53, use YAB (Yet Another PSN Bypass),

This will require you to use your PC as a proxy for the PS3.

You also want to use PSNPATCH,

This will disable custom syscall temporarily, making CFW more a like to OFW. Keep in mind while custom syscall is disabled you won't be able to use homebrew like multiman. A PS3 restart is required to use homebrew again.

The latest Rebug FW is 4.46 indeed.
Their porting Cobra to Rebug 4.50 and with the release of 4.53, I think that the Rebug team is going to skip 4.50 and work on 4.53.

As far as I know 4.46 is lower then 4.53.
Unless you live in another dimension where 100 quid is lower then 1 quid.

Right now the latest firmware for Rebug is indeed 4.46. Use methods I posted above to spoof it to 4.53 so you can use PSN. It is only spoof, any new features introduced from 4.50 and 4.53 is not available.

Team Rebug takes considerable time to release a CFW. Unlike Habib and Rogero who typically use hybrid CFW (CFW with files from older version), Rebug's CFW is built from scratch.

Right, I was hoping there was a method to at least spoof the version number for now while remaining on Rebug 4.46.1

I can't use current popular proxy methods since I am on a *nix system, not Windows.

No. The keys have been the same since 4.21(which was released over a year ago). The purpose is solely to get online. There's no reason not to get habib/cobra 4.53 on your ps3 now because webman is so awesome. Also turning your QA flags on will considerably reduce any brick risks its not stated in most tutorials. this tutorial is still valid

im afraid of habib 4.53, i think his stuff might be too rushed. i trust it to work, just don't want bugs. rebug tends to iron those out before a release.
