right - so a couple of things I want to double check.

1) We don't have to rerun any new installer from the blue card then - just change the "launcher.dat" on the internal card

2) With this version, we still have to write the saves by closing to the home screen? (I recall they were working on that too but guess its not included yet)

3) so from reports about the new Zelda game...it seems we may have to run some games in emunand mode in order to save correctly (so may aswell run all in Emunand mode?). I assume too, that the issue with emunand saving, suggests that the save game fix, means likely HAVE to download the systemupdate to the emunand then? Or are people running it and saving fine without updating the emunand?

a better way to make sure you don't get mixed up between emunand and sysnand

About the whole "classic mode deleting saves" thing... this only appears to be the case for games packaged with the 6.0.0 update or higher. I tested with luigi's mansion, and the save file is intact.

So, you could play retail 5.0 or 5.1 games on emunand without losing the save file. Disclaimer, I haven't tested any 5.0 or 5.1 games, but I believe this because savegame encryption was changed with 6.0.0 and newer games.

After starting emuNAND mode, entering/leaving settings (to check version number) the 3DS seems to fall back to original NAND? Is this expected behavior?

I made a backup of my NAND. I formatted the SD card. I was in GW3DS 4.50. I updated using the system. Now I'm in 6.3.0-12E. And it's my system NAND. How did this happen?! I double checked and I was sure I was in GW3DS 4.50. How do I restore my NAND?

same problem with zelda

i dont want to do the emunand yet. since im still on firmware 4.4 (not 4.5). I will only update to 4.5 once they fix all problems.

noticed many things..

1) once you click on ds profile sometimes it gets stuck with lines on screen and does not work. you have to manually turn off the 3ds. this is random and you get more of this than actually booting into gateway mode.

2)other times it does the gateway mode fine. But when playing the zelda backup the savegame is not recognized (i see the new savefile on the sd card)

3) from zelda to home screen..crash, does not respond

4) from zelda to poweroff button it worked. but the savefile is on sd card and will not work when you launch the game again.

I dont think its possible now at least not without a hardware solution.
to me it sounds like you messed it up, I did not hear about anyone with the same problem :(
updatet my emunand a few minutes ago without a problem, im sorry for you.

mine seems to download to the SD card fine and then booting back into 4.5 it recognizes the apps i got from the E-shop on 6.3

guess no keys in the NAND about downloads from E-shop
guess because its encrypted for each console it already knows its fine for mine
just the SDK doesnt match so fails to boot

If this is the case, EmuNAND acts different from doing actual NAND backups.

I recall users saying that games werent detected while flashing back an older NAND where the games were never purchased.

I can also confirm that 4.5 recognizes titles downloaded from emunand. I formatted my system memory a while ago, but was able to redownload everything, and I also bought Oracle of Ages. It all appears on the menu, though Oracle of Ages doesn't boot in 4.5 because it's too new.

I have been trying to keep up with all the information coming out and I have yet to see an answer to this question... Does the sysNAND and emuNAND have different settings for parental controls? Like could you setup the sysNAND top prevent Internet access and set the emuNAND differently? Could help prevent accidental updates. I don't get my card till today so i can't test yet.
