Hacking How do i update r4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) for 6.3.0 12U?

I downloaded the kernel on their site and installed it on to the root of my SD card, but i keep getting a screen that says that i have to hold the power button to turn off my 3DS (same screen you'd get by starting up the r4i gold without any files on it). I have no idea what to do now

Could be a fake, skip the flashing bit for now and open it up and just check it has the fuse you're meant to destroy in the final step, I had the same issue but found out that on the outside it was a 1:1 copy, but inside I saw it was a definite fake because the chips were in weird places and the fuse was not there at all.

yeah, I was on 5.1 and then updated once i got pokemon, now it won't even start. usually I just google for solutions, but i haven't any relief for this problem.

Have you format your sd card before you download the firmwawre in it? Maybe it is the problem of your sd card , you can change a new sd card and try, if your car is really from the www.r4ids.cn i think there is no problem to update to V6.3.

is your card working fine on those firmwares?

You're trying to update a card for 6.3 using a system on 6.3?

Flash cart 101: You can't run a firmware update for a card that is blocked on your system (with the exception of Supercard DSTWO). The firmware update file for the card is run from the game select menu like a DS rom. If you can't start up the card (because it's blocked) you can't run the fix.

Solution: You need to borrow a DS, DS Lite or a DSi/3DS that can still boot up the card to run the card update.

edit: I can't believe all the people above me don't know/can't read. It's unbelievable.

the kernel is wood, wood runs the games and homebrew. what you want to download is the bootloader. you'll need a ds phat/lite, or a dsi/3ds on a firmware lower than the one you are updating for. by this i mean, your 3ds woud need to be on a 5.x firmware if you are updating to the 6.x bootloader. this is due to the fact that the updates are .nds files. you can't very well run a .nds file using the wood kernel if you can't boot the card to begin with.

check it has the fuse you're meant to destroy in the final step,

Please note: Our new card(shipped out after June 25th) comes with "konami" directly don't need to do the patch updating and PCB line cutting, which can support 3DS V6.0.0-X directly.

I just received my card in the mail and I can't get it to see any games I put on. I've followed the instructions with the download for wood 1.64, but on step 4 I can't get the launcher process to work. Would I need to update the cart on another ds in this case?
