Like the title says, I just received my downgraded PS3. Luckily I already have Final Fantasy XIII to keep me busy, so I'm not in a huge hurry to install Rebug, but I wanted to be absolutely sure before I did anything that might brick my PS3. I want to install the latest Rebug Lite, so do I need to dehash beforehand? I'm going to contact the guy who downgraded for me to see if he did so, but is it necessary? I know nothing of Lv1 checks or the like. This would be the guide I follow if I do need to dehash, and hopefully it's correct: http://tech4idiots.org/2012/12/11/how-to-dehash-your-ps3/

Most CFW like Rebug and Rogero have Lv1 check disabled.

Still run Toggle QA to enable QA before installing CFW. Dehash is absolutely necessary if you plan to jump back to OFW.

No you don't have to Dehash.
that only if you want to downgrade a ps3 from a higher firmware or to reinstall OFW, from what i have read in the link you posted.
and its best that you install a cfw on it fast, if the ps3 is on 3.55, so you dont accidentally update it to a OFW

I don't plan to go back to OFW, but it was on 4.46 OFW before downgrading. I just want to install Rebug from the 3.55 OFW he downgraded to, and I wasn't sure if dehashing was necessary. The article was confusing, because it was unclear if dehashing was necessary before downgrading, or if it is necessary after downgrading but before installing CFW.
