Hacking How to update to 4.5

The problem is I live in Japan. With a American 3DS. I don't have access to those kinds of stores. Is there anyway?

Well you'd have to have it imported then...

You'd need a game with a firmware between 4.1-4.5. If you got 4.1 you could then use Gateway version 1.0 without firmware spoofing to run a rom of a game with 4.5 and update to that if you wanted too.

Does someone know what's the last number of a firmware for? For example, the regular 4.5 shows as 4.5.0-10X, but the 3DS used in the recent Gateway video showed as 4.5.0-8X and now a user here is saying that updating with Animal Crossing led his console to a 4.5.0-6X firmware.
