Hacking How to update to 4.5

So getting a gateway now but my 3ds is 3.0 firmware. How do I update it?

You need to be on 4.1-4.5 for the Gateway, and others, to work.

Maybe you can find a friend with animal crossing new leaf, it have 4.5 update (At least in europe because I can run it on my 4.5 3DS)

This guy also posted miss imformation in other places. However, I checked and it seams pokemon mystery dongeon realy update the firmware to 4.5.0 (I didn't tryed, just read about on the web)

Does someone know what's the last number of a firmware for? For example, the regular 4.5 shows as 4.5.0-10X, but the 3DS used in the recent Gateway video showed as 4.5.0-8X and now a user here is saying that updating with Animal Crossing led his console to a 4.5.0-6X firmware.

Looks like that's my fault then, I skimmed over it. Still, I could have sworn Animal Crossing was 4.5 and the first game to use 5.1 was Mario and Luigi Dream Team

Edit: Unless newer editions of the game are coming with the update I think the wiki is wrong.

why not just go to ur local "insert big game shop" and buy a game update and return it because most have pretty lax return policies. Better yet if u just ask to try out a 2nd hand game instore they will probably let u pop it in for a min to try it.

Then your only option is importing whatever game you choose to use for updating.
