Just a few questions, ive checked the other threads and its similar to my question, but the question doesn't seem to have been answered .

ive done all the necessary things, and my 3ds goes into gateway mode, i think?
is it in gateway mode when, if i put an original game in it wont show up??
is it also the smiley face behind the internet logo on the system settings screen

ive tried to put a rom on the microsd card, via diskimager, but nothing shows up on the 3ds.

im now testing the microsd with h2test and im going to format it with sdformatter, but upto now its just not working.

ive tried different microsd cards as well, and ive also tried the testrom in diagnostics mode and the colour goes green, but when i try to test the rom, it says "When GW_testrom is detected on the micro SD, LED will flash hue from blue to red depending on the detected read speed, at the end of a full 1G successful read of the test file the LED should turn to constant Green."
but mine reads it and stays green within about 5 seconds??

edit: ive tried 3 different sd cards now to no avail, 2 of them are class 4 the other does'nt say.

Retail 3DS games do not show up in Gateway 3DS mode. Lets check off a few things.

You've ran the GW_INSTALL.nds file using the blue DS flashcart included with the GW3DS. It ran just fine with no issues?
You put the launcher.dat file onto the root of the 3DS' SD card?
You flashed a game onto a micro SD card using Win32DiskImager. It was flashed successfully?
You put the micro SD card into the red GW3DS flashcart, stuck it into the 3DS, and then went into the 3DS' settings->Profile->Nintendo DS Profile Settings?
The 3DS then reboots into the menu and the game doesn't show?

You've either got a bad GW3DS, are using a bad SD card/micro SD card, or your files are corrupt. (The 3DS rom, the GW3DS install file, or the launcher.dat file.)

Have you tried to redo all the steps again? You could also try with a completely different ROM (a 3DS ROM, of course).

First, load a DS game to undo any changes made to your console
1. Delete and replace only the dat file of the GW 1.2 zip on the root of your SD card and reinsert it on your 3DS.
2. Load the blue cart on your 3DS and load the GW ROM, select the EUR hack.
3. Grab another MicroSD, insert it on your computer and give it the default format according to what the system indicates, then record the ROM image using diskimager, make sure the process is succesful.
4. While your 3DS is closed, remove the Blue Cart and now grab the Red Cart and put the MicroSD with the ROM image on it and insert it on your 3DS.
5. Go to System Settings and select DS Profile.

If you still don't see the game icon, then I can't give you further help.

The last * comming late is normal, mine do the exact same thing.

When you run the test thing, it goes to green directly ? No other colors at all before ? It shouldn't be instant green. Just tested with mine, it goes Red, yellow, tail (All the time) then :
Constant Blue -> No micro SD card
Constant White -> FAT 32 formatted card
Constant Green -> 3DS rom
Blinking blue for a long time then Green -> testrom (Yes it's constant blue blinking even with a class 4 card)

I dont know if this would help you or not, but the SD card I used in my 3ds XL, ie: the 4GB SD card that came with the 3ds XL - I accidentially formatted that SD Card - deleting all 3ds files that previously existed there - see the youtube video below - the video tutorial said not to delete the contents on the SD card..

To get my 3ds ROM working -
1 - make sure the "3ds cartridge slot" is empty. [ Remove the red Gateway card from the 3ds console if it is already in there ]
2 - Go to the 3ds "System Settings", then "other settings", then "profile" and then click on "nintendo ds profile"
3 - wait a few seconds for 3ds to finish "crashing"
4 - Insert the red Gateway cartidge in the "3ds cartridge slot"
5 - the 3ds game will appear.

from that youtube clip at the 1 minute 33 second mark - the tutorial said not to delete the "Nintendo 3ds" folder - but I accidentally did. I think that is why for me I have to make sure the 3ds console's cartridge slot is empty before I launch the "nintendo ds profile" setting setup.

For me if I left my red Gateway card in the 3ds console and then I launch the "nintendo ds profile" setting setup - the result would be the game wont show up - a empty box where the 3ds game would otherwise be [ had to eject the red gateway card then reinsert it in the 3ds console to get the game to work / show up ].

I belive on my old 3DS I had to do this too (Remove and reinsert) but on this one, which is on the same firmware version (The old one was 3DS and this one is 3DS xl), I don't have to.
Deleting or not the nintendo 3DS won't make the gateway buggy, but if you have eShop games bought before, this will delete it, and it deletes also spotpass and stretpass data (When you create them with games they say to not remove the SD card)

Mine stays with a solid blue LED irregardless if there is one of my now 7 SD cards in it or not. So far, this cart is garbage. I paid a premium for it too from a sponsor site which claims to have "price guarantee" also pure garbage. I guess this is why people are waiting for another solution to come out. This cart is kind of half assed.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
