Hacking vWii app that lets you manually delete nand files?

OK, I had created this thread about my semi-bricked vWii here.

It seems that the source of my problems is a nand file stored in /title/00000001/00000002/data/cdb.vff and this file I need to manually delete it from my vWii.
But I do not know any app that let me doing something like this.

FSToolbox seems to only copy the files in the SD card. (correct me if I am wrorng)

WiiExplorer while offers such an option for Wii,it seems that it cannot access fully vWii's nand yet.

So,are there any other choices?

That can explain why your vwii works in that special mode. Because the message board is disabled there.

hmm, have you tried using FSToolbox to REPLACE that file with an EMPTY one?
(backing up the existing one first, of course)

Yeah, I did it just fine on my vWii.

I think you'd brick it if you DELETE the message board... I'd suggest replacing that file with an empty one (see my post in the tutorial thread for a NTSC-U one, not sure if it'll work for you or not)

It would not brick, SM just regenerates it if the file is missing.

It should be as simple as applying the necessary IOS patches for full ISFS access and calling ISFS_Delete(); there should be nothing to worry about, because the System Menu is capable of regenerating any file from its "data" directory even if they're not present (just like SifJar said).

Though I'm not completely sure is this file is *really* the source of the problem... Am I the only one who remembers this? This "mailbox brick" was actually related to /shared2.

If you're completely certain this is the source of the problem, I can send you a cdb.vff deleter through PM.

No application offers the possibility to manually delete files from the NAND filesystem, and there most likely won't be any. Just consider that it is already *too* risky to let anyone use AnyTitle Deleter...

But I just tried to flash another cdb.vff file (I had dumped it using FSToolbox months before my semi-brick with Wii Fit Plus) and I can confirm that the problem is still there.

So,you were right from the beginning that the source of the problem was not this file.

Anyway,I am again at square one...

I do not know if I can do it correctly without any guide.

That was the exact same idea I had before.

But Joostin said it was really dangerous and wouldn't help me out with it.

I'm willing to be a beta tester for the community if someone can write me an app that takes FS Toolbox's backup and restores every file in that (and deletes ones not included)... I'll take a new backup with the most recent 4.0 update - my vWii is still as close to virgin status as possible (e.g. I only installed HBC, I also cleaned my message board to erase the logs of me playing Lego Star Wars in order to exploit it, haven't installed any WADs yet or anything other than HBC and legal channels from my transferred Wii)... since I just got my Wii U a few weeks ago and it's still under warranty, if something goes wrong I can sweet-talk Nintendo into doing an advanced replacement for me.

Well, I guess you could always try to replace the WC24 files in /shared2 with the ones saved in the ZIP file I linked earlier. There should be no problem with them since, as far as I know, they don't contain info from any other Wii console.

I'm almost certain this is just a plain ol' Mailbox Brick.

I suppose my last hope is the cdb.vff deleter...
