I have been working on this game for about two weeks now and it looks like the hacking work is mostly complete, however I have no played through the entire game to verify if I've missed anything.

As you can see from the pictures below a Variable Width Font has been inserted and it's working perfectly.

All the remains is the text so if anyone is up for translating the text for this game into english, There is approximately 320KB of text which includes control codes and some automated comments. The text is also split into multiple files based on the various pointer tables so the text in each file should all be related. Send me an email at [email protected] if you're interested.

You can see the current status of the project along with all of the project files on github.

never been a fan of bomberman but ill try when youre done but you suprised i thought the gba section was dead

Thank you!

Hold on, will this work on Bomberman Jetters Collection too?

(Also sorry for bringing up such an old topic.)

normmatt i cant use cartographer.....when im opening the bat file the cartographer.exe has encountered a problem is always appearing.....what seems the problem?

Your git client likely changed the line endings.... I think it has to be either windows or linux style to work... Try changing the line endings of the .tbl files and .txt files

Hiya folks, Pablitox at romhacking.net linked me here, and if this project is still going, I'd be glad to hop in and give translating text a go. As long as the tools are there and I can figure out how to get the text in, I'd love to help out on that end. I'll take a look at the tools on the github, and feel free to let me know what's going on!

So, if anyone is still wondering about a translation for this, I'd be happy to give a shot, all the tools, scripts and such are there, so it's all just translation that needs to be done. I'd like to see if anyone would like to help if possible.

I'd also be keen to see this actually get done... unfortunately my time these days is limited.

So if you guys need any help let me know.
Same, i'm looking for a translator but i think i have got used to inserting the lines in the game, so far i have only tried with the bits that were already translated, it does not seem hard, though i'll pm you if i have any problems. By the way, i applied the translation in a rom with eurasia's intro, it kind of break the fon, so i'm gonna try it again with a non-intro rom.

Just curious, but could the same thing be done in the hajimari no ishi game? with that I mean using atlas+cartographer. I was actually wondering about the VWF as well, did you get any insight on that? it's nothing urgent really, i know you are pretty busy, and the text of the later parts of the game is not in (yet). About the width table, if i am not wrong it should be the same as the one you have in the bomberman jetters repo in the font folder.

Good to see there's still interest in this. You guys just need the translated script right? Is it just a matter of inserting the text then? I'm currently learning japanese, it isn't perfect but I'm looking for material to work with and this seems perfect being a game intended for children - very easy to read but still very thoughtful. It looks like the perfect exerciae material - so I'm interested! I'll take a look at the script and play it in japanese to translate as I go. I don't promise anything though but it'd be nice to have a game be translated by me :) I'll probably start this week so I'll keep you posted in that case. Thanks!

Hey there Sizednochi!

I'm glad you are interested in this game too. I'm currently helping translate this game with another person, who is in charge of the script (I took the insertion of the script and graphic extraction/insertion). If you want, I can link you to our discord's chat so you can see what progress what made and what's left to do.

hey guys, I wanted to give a quick update.

Everything is going fine. Script translation has been progressing a lot thanks to lord kuro and discoGentleman. I can't give an ETA yet but once the script's been translated, we'll post it here.
