Hacking Blue Gateway on 6.2.0-12u?

I have two separate 3DS and a DSTWO so this isn't needed, it's just be really convenient if i could get the blue gateway to work on 6.2. I know they say it only works on 6.1 but it's apparently just a r4i, so couldn't there be a firmware that could get it to work on 6.2?

I tried a few but they weren't compatible. Anyone know anything about this? I searched all yesterday about this on the forums and google, but not much info on the blue gateway beyond that it's a r4i.
