They chose the Kitkat name because "everyone" can enjoy it (because the kit kat can break in smaller pieces! Get it?).

Personally I think that they taste like crap, just like the rest of the products bought from Nestlè to enlarge their market. Maybe in the US it's different because of another company?
But if they called Android 4.4 like that because "everyone can enjoy it", I hope that even older phones will be able to

You can be 100% sure it does. The Nexus 4 is still top-tier tech, the only things topping it are probably the new Snapdragons and the Exynos Octa (which I don't like particularly as it's not really octa-core).
