Hacking Deleting Downloaded (but not installed) System Updates?

I want to use my 3DS online, but I don't want to keep seeing the update screen. So can I possibly connect online and just delete this data off my flashcard? Or does the 3DS store it within internal memory?

The only other way to remove the update is to format the system. Then you would have to disable wifi to keep it from redownloading the update.

Just thought I'd chip in and say that after rebooting the 3ds (but not putting in a ds game and removing the modified ds settings) I still receive the update prompt. The only time I don't receive the prompt is when I remove the sd card. Not exactly sure where on the sd card the update is stored though and don't want to format because my 3ds has ambassador games

Do you have the launcher.dat file on the 3ds's sd card? For me the update nag was gone, then came back once, and now whatever I do it won't come back. So i'm not sure exactly what is required to remove it.

nah, just ran through stock eos, launcher.dat was on 3ds sd card

If you only ever use your 3DS at home and your neighbors have no unprotected wifi and nobody else uses your 3DS. But that's not the case for most people.

Are you sure that's not for 3DS flashcards? I only have R4. I don't think that file will work, and if it does I can't tell which of them is the right one.
