I want to use my 3DS online, but I don't want to keep seeing the update screen. So can I possibly connect online and just delete this data off my flashcard? Or does the 3DS store it within internal memory?
I heard setting up parental settings can stop that update message from always popping up... I'd like some more clarification on this myself.
Installing the gateway exploit gets rid of the message
I assume you need a gateway card for that.
Not all of us have one, however, so your suggestion is a little limited in actual application :/no you dont. just a ds flash cart

Just thought I'd chip in and say that after rebooting the 3ds (but not putting in a ds game and removing the modified ds settings) I still receive the update prompt. The only time I don't receive the prompt is when I remove the sd card. Not exactly sure where on the sd card the update is stored though and don't want to format because my 3ds has ambassador games

Not sure if it's at all related to you, but if you're using a SCDS2 with BAGPlug, you'll need to install it from the default EOS menu instead for it to work.

The parental control thing meant to disable wifi, and then use parental controls to stop wifi from coming back on.

If you only ever use your 3DS at home and your neighbors have no unprotected wifi and nobody else uses your 3DS. But that's not the case for most people.wouldnt not be easier to not put your Wi-Fi code in the 1st place.
you can just go to settings and format the 3ds that will delete downloaded Update and won't ask you to update anymore, did it myself.
