Yeah! Let's thank them for shitting on us!

... they don't owe you anything, at all.

I don't see why so many people feel entitled to others' work when they never definitively said they were going to release it, especially without AP measures in place.

I want the Wii U to have success and I highly doubt anyone flamed f0f as I did. Times change, views change. Tri-core began after f0f blog post on the racing attack. A hint given that if that is completed they (f0f) may release more.

Release info and Nintendo will patch it (likely).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but once a hardware exploit is made, it can never be patched. Nintendo could temporarily patch up the IOS, but you can always run unsigned code through the hardware exploit that you found.

Depends. I thought Marcan said racing attack is fundamental flaw. After that, ask Marcan. 360 and PSP went through hardware revisions. If hardware is not changed, sure, hard to patch. 360 tried funny business with rgh before I parted ways with it.

So where is a good thread/forum post on the current WiiU work being done?

I would love to get involved or offer assistance.

I have to say I feel for this kid though. Nowadays consoles aren't for the beginner hacker/hardware hacker.
And for all the talk of "this guy doesn't know X.." no one ever said WHY.

No one explained the resistor values on the memory card. It's a ram device, knowing which lines are RX,TX,CLK, and that they need to just be the same relative resistance from beginning to end of the trace (from A to B). As for the trace repair, I can't imagine what he would have tried from Rat Shack for that. You can buy trace repair kits online, and relatively cheap. But again I heard no one telling him to back off the heat on this board. (ie solder tip is too hot, or he is holding it on too long.)

Also how did he pull the BGA? did he preheat the PWB/PCB first? This PWB/PCB is most likely 6 layer+ NOT 2 layer. The BGA CPU and GPU probably have high pin counts and fine pitch, so 6 layer minimum. So this board would take preheating before trying to solder to it without burning anything or lifting traces.

It would be nice to see people would offer up something instead of pointing out "you don't know shxt!!" over an over.

Not a believer but think he could do something after his poste about what he has done !
Post about "crypted eMMC" tics me... (everyone could think of that...)
Till he updated the thread with copy/paste of datasheet I gave him ....
But saw it lately...
Gave him others informations (those I posted on trinux thread) and other on kernel drivers saw on Samsung phone hacks...
Invite on demand (with dated datas...) ...
Really disappointed...
Think that he never really works on it (everything is a copy of somewhere else except the sofa picture where nothing seems to be done with a simple wii u disassemble...)

I will apologies if I'm mistaken ...

First off I am posting this from my phone because I can't be doing this 24/7 I have a life. Second off a volunteer from this very forum Adr990 worked hard and disassembled his WiiU to help speed things along while I was busy with life. Sorry I have been gone for 24 hours I have college scheduling to take care of. Another thing I NEVER plagiarized anything from you and you never gave me a single thing as a matter of fact I have no idea who the fuck you are. The schematics for the eMMC I got was from Samsung not a user or a forum. I would be happy to upload the PDF if you wish. Also I removed the flat mount eMMC chip from the motherboard with a certified approved heat gun for SMD IC removal with a friend. Those pictures are of my array. As a matter of fact you can see a bit of the dugout trace on the picture to the left. Another thing is that I do not appreciate the tone of which people are attacking the 3 core Linux team. As I said before they work hard and deserve respect as they are working for the community let alone they are my friends. Really reconsidering continuing with this research publicly. I think now I understand why anyone who found an exploit didn't release it before.

EDIT: Never mind I just went back and checked a PM from TheChield. He did in fact send me the same Samsung data sheet as the one I obtained off a google search I had done prior, however I never checked anything he linked me to as well as had this data sheet before hand which is what I was using as a reference and the reason I was able to even check the 33 ohm resistors, you can run this by Adr990 I was working with prior to this PM that was sent to me when I drew up a visual for him to run schematics through. Let me Google that for you.
Never the less if you believe I haven't done any work then you can leave because I am not going to sit here and help a bunch of people that do not respect the work that is being done here or over at 3 core linux.

Tri-core team is made of good people. Lot of interest in that blew up. Exploits make no sense with no sdk, no dev environment yet either. Marcan did give hardware exploit to build from. I preferred 360 approach but Wii U also needs to get steam before hacks are presented. With pcb, there are a plethora of approaches. Steady hand, flux, lowest temperature that works;-). I repair electronics with a 30 watt rat shack soldering iron, roflmao. Unless you have the right tools and abilities you have no clue how difficult it can be.

I've spent time in soldering forums, "Can I fix this?" Threads. I've seen worse than what shadow did. Once, removed a 360 x clamp, and brushed a cap. It happens and he was removing something. I still believe there are ways without full removal. Can tack thin gauge wires to avoid damage. Shit happens. 10 people will see a soldering task differently. Some had $1,000 machines to "reball" 360. If anyone has ideas, pm shadow. Ideas should not hurt. The emmc docs are out there, not some secret, lmfao. Shadow, maybe ignore, stick to knowledgeable people. Or go private. Like tri core, a private thread you can add certain people to. Can recruit here, add testers, and add op on looking for experienced help.

Hatred solves nothing and I likely won't ever be forgiven by some. I can only stay positive now. Only ideas shadow. If it were so easy others would have done it (released in public). Not that this matters but lighten up guys.

1. Not a kid, 22 engaged and have had years and years of experience.
2. http://www.pictureshack.us/images/72790_allinone.jpg
3. The trace was pulled up because of a clamp I was using from radioshack which is standard to use for flat mount soldering. The clamp was spring loaded and got stuck which removed the trace and the resistor with the pad, the reason I thought I was getting a cold solder joint is the trace had a break further along the line up by the chip, this is not my first rodeo I have been doing this for over 5 years.
4. Last but not least I removed the eMMC chip, an amateur with improper tools could not have done this without breaking the solder joints or burning up the chip, as you can see that is a clean removal.
5. The board is 2 layered, I checked by scratching under the trace and found a ground plate on both sides.
6. I was planning to remove the eMMC anyway to document a full nand replacement, check my first post.

A trace problem was the least of my worries, that is easy to fix and I have since repaired this issue. From here on out I do not mean to be rude but I will not be accepting any volunteers or communicating my findings unless ready to be published with anyone other than the linux 3-core team or ADR990

Waninkoko is supposedly 19 (at least that's what he says on irc) (also if you look back a couple of years he released a wii ios that made some games not work (fixed others) and pl went crazy on him) Anyway what I was gonna ask is, what is your goal? Is it to enable custom code or ?.

A few years ago he was a university student as far as I know. Remember, do not always believe what people say on the internet regarding their personal details, especially not on IRC!

I don't know who Waninkoko is, nor do I care. Second on the issue of my legitimate age.

Third, lets have a recap of what we have here.

Someone with a vast technical knowledge comes to your community offering help after coming from the Xbox 360 development community. Takes time out of his eventful life to sit down and disassemble a $300.00+ piece of hardware and offer assistance to a very dead, very helpless community that literally has done nothing to help itself except for the tri-core team which I just witnessed get chastised in my own thread as well as the slander of f0f whom also gave you the tools to help yourselves but you rather just see results rather than respect the journey and the hard work, time, and effort required to achieve those results, and you question my legitimacy which I have needlessly proved and now I'm proving my age as well, would you like SSN with that? My question here is what does any of this have to do with the work I'm doing let alone matter if I am a big name or someone who came out of the dark whom has the skills required to accomplish the goals that have been set for progress. I have provided nothing that can or has hurt anyone in anyway in fact I was in the process of writing up a tutorial as well as a video instructional that would be safe and affordable as well as a tested method to dump the eMMC without need for resistors or solder. However it is very clear to me that instead of sitting down patiently and following progress or offering up ideas we have a circus going on full of hate, slander, and gimme's. It has become painfully obvious why no one has reached out to help this community. I have spent more time defending my identity which took up more effort and more of time than I am willing to even put forth. I will no longer be providing information for this community any longer nor will I release any new strides I have taken since my last update. I would like to apologies to Adr990 who took time out of his day to not only verify and help document my findings and disassemble his WiiU but also draw up detail schematics which I was going to incorporate in the BGA bridge points for my next update. He may release this if he so chooses but as of now I will no longer even be presenting my findings, tutorials, or further providing exploitation in the public eye at all. When you bite the hand that feeds, eventually it stops offering.

Shadow LAG: I have only read the first and the last page of this thread so I have no idea what happened between these pages. My post above wasn't referring you in any way and it was a joke I felt like to cut after reading someone posting partially false information regarding a respected dev who contributed a lot for the wii scene. With that being said, you don't need to prove to anyone your age or skills here because it's fucking none of our business. Ignore the trolls and do what you are doing.

Why you upset lol? Majority of people here are grateful just you get alot of assholes who post. For proof look how many likes your first post received....

I dont mean to be rude Shadow Lag but as you have experience in the 360 scene did you not expect this? Unless you have a rep like fof and the like, people will always call you out. And unless you put up difficult to understand info (again like fof do) then people will question you.

As someone with experience I would of expected you to know that you need thick skin to do this and be open about it. Again no disrespect, Iv enjoyed this thread and your input, even if it is or is not up to task.

Also Il like to add that what usually happens with these type of threads is, someone unknown will put up a bit of technical info, people will call him/her out, that person would then blame everyone else, then disappear. Is that whats happening here?? I hope not.

He did a lot of good work on the Wii. He also managed to brick quite a few PS3's with his early CFW. It'd be nice if he showed up in the Wii U scene to do some work there again. Here's a link to some of his collective works...

You said it all right there. Don't be so discouraged by randoms on the internet. I've been an active part of several scenes. It happens in all of them. You can judge for yourself by the lack of likes on those comments just how valuable those opinions are to the community. I guarantee that the majority appreciate your efforts. Please don't let the few who overvalue their own opinion affect your work. There's lots of talking heads in all the communities. Don't feel like you have to reply to each and every post somebody makes towards you. Editing your op is just going to make people doubt more and troll you even harder. Seen it a million times. Just ignore them and keep up the good work.

I will reconsider my stance tomorrow, if I do continue my work I may do so on a blog alternatively with more filtered interaction if I do take this course of action. For now the information in my original post is backed up as well as the information I have not yet shared so depending on my decision I may or may not import that over to a blog. I need some time to think about this.

I really hope you continue posting your findings.
It's mostly the lurkers like myself who are interested in this thread and appreciate what you do, with the few that decide to give you positive feedback and actively contribute to the discussion.
It sucks that so many people are biting your balls, but i'm sure they can just be ignored, get angrier and get banned/warned.
Also I see no way that someone could legitimately want you to prove your age, i'm pretty sure they're just trolling.

This is ridiculous, you're trying to do something good and help the community. But instead of being happy, people start hating you. I don't understand that...
