So basically I'm facing this weird problem. For example, Zelda Skyward Sword, game runs fine at the start, but after playing like 30 minutes loading transitions (fading to white or black screens) start to take longer and longer, untill one transition just gets stuck and freezes. Is this some sort of spin down issue? I'm using a 1TB Seagate Backup Plus Portable, I took a look at my HDs settings and spin downs were turned off by default, so I got no idea what's going on.

I thought about it but does it really makes sense the lack of a Y cable to be the problem? I mean, if the problem is really the power that the HD is getting from the USB ports, wouldn't this mean that the games wouldn't load at all? But instead they end up freezing after almost an entire hour of gameplay.

Try a Y-cable, first...

Yeah I know, but the HD doesn't use a regular mini USB cable, it uses one of these: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/seagatebackupplushdd.jpg

Wich is why it's such a pain to find a Y cable for it.

That looks like a standard USB 3.0 normal type A male to micro type B male cable. (Mini was retired with USB 3.0). A USB 2.0 2x normal type A male to 1x normal type A female plus the cable you already have will work, as well as any USB 2.0 2x normal type A male to micro type B male will also work. In the latter case, the cable won't fill the entire plug on your HDD, but that is unnecessary for USB 2.0.

Hi, i have Wiiflow 3.1.3 and i run all games from usb wbfs format, so i just copy isos to it, the problem here is that i Cant Play Skyward Sword but i can load any other game on the hdd, im using cios 249, 250 or 251 and 251 is the one that lets me load all of the games and when i select another ios it will give me a dump and it doesnt restart and i have to unplug the wii u, so i would like to know what cios do i need for Skyward Sword to work? Thanks!

Usually a good idea to make your own thread instead of hijacking someone elses that's 2 months old.

The wbfs drive is probably to blame. The cIOS numbers mean nothing. You can install anything you want in any slot. We need to know which cIOSes you have installed to those slots.

You clearly aren't getting his point, hijacking is against the rules(LAST I CHECKED) and besides, we only ridicule people who ask questions that already have been answered, this person never got an answer, and thus, you WOULD NOT have been mocked. Now on the other hand?
LET THE LAUGHING COMMENCE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH*hack cough choke wheeze* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH....okay I'm done.

If we're idiots then why are you asking us for help?

The only similarities in your problems are Skyward Sword, hard drive loading, and that you're both using a WiiU. The OP can run the game but runs into issues after the game has loaded. You're having issues loading the game at all. I suggested above that it's the wbfs drive to blame, but you skimmed over that when calling me an idiot. The wbfs filesystem is known for corruption issues when adding and removing games.

Ok then and why do all of the other games work fine?

Because they're not corrupted yet.

yes, using WiiBackupManager will convert the file to .wbfs files, and even split it in two files if you are using FAT32 and the game is bigger than 4GB. Split files work fine on all loaders, don't worry.

the WBFS format is corrupting existing games already on the partition when you add new games (it's not correctly marking the clusters as "already used", so it's using it for another game and replacing important data).
To verify your games, you can also use WiiBackupManager, there's a "Sha1" option to do that.

old games get corrupted in favor of the last added one. Not always, but it happens. just test them.

I'm not guaranteeing that's the problem, but that's what it sounds like.

Thanks for nothing!
Do you really have a problem or are you just trolling. Everyone's been trying to help you.

Use WiiBackupManager to check your WBFS drive for errors. Replace any corrupted games with a clean dump.
Then use this tool to convert your drive to FAT32: http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-convert-from-wbfs-to-fat32-or-ntfs.292391/ and you won't have that problem again.

Also as you don't seem to have a clue what cIOSes you have installed into what slots, run ModMii and tell it you want to hack your unmodded wii, then it'll create cIOS wads for you to install based on IOS56 and 57 (in slots 249 and 250). Most of the time you will want to use 249 for games, only use 250 when 249 doesn't work.

If you really want to fix your problem you have to try these instructions, it'll probably work. If not, then deal with not being able to play Skyward Sword. People are trying to help, if you won't accept that help then it's your own loss. You can be rude or complain that other people are being rude all you want but in the end you're the one who's not able to play the game so it would be in your own benefit to be nice to the people who are trying to help you.

And who is the one insulting and acting like 5 year olds? please guys go back to mommy.
Skyward Sword has anti-piracy measures, you need a patch for WiiFlow (Google the patch). Good day
