How can you say that? This device can be used to play legal backups of 3DS games! People don't want to damage their original game carts that they bought with their hard earned money! :tpi:
Backups are illegal, its written in every game booklet.

if you have the original and it's for you, and only you, then no, it's not illegal.

if you have multiple copies and plan on selling them, then yes, it's illegal.
if you have a copy and you don't own the original, yes, it's illegal.

Technically the backup has to be dumped by you from a game cartridge you own. IMO as long as you own the game though, who really gives a shit? Picky laws.

Dunno if this is a valid question, or if this has been addressed already, but how could the Gateway flashcart NOT be used for pirating purposes? People sometimes validate flashcarts by being more convenient for carrying multiple legitimate games, or homebrew, but this flashcart cannot do either.

Just a question, TBH I'm a horrible pirate.

If you're able to dump your own 3DS games, that's how, although there is little point as it plays one rom at a time, so the main use would be piracy. If you manage to have your purchased game cart(s) ROM(s) on your PC for backup and lose the physical cartridge, this would at least allow you to play (if gateway 3ds is legit and works at all), but guess how many people are actually going to use it for that end?
