Hi guys,

I just installed usb loader GX and it works fine with the games I have. However, I want to play Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The file is 6 gigs large but my external hard drive can't take files over 4gb (due to its fat32 format). Is there any way I can move the large file onto my external hd so that I can play the game? If not, how can I play the game? Thanks for your time!

Best regards,

K

Hey guys sorry to bother you again but when I use the wii backup manager, it seems to work fine. I select drive 1 and link my external hard drive then add the file I want and click transfer. It seems to work fine but when it says "finished", I don't see the game on the HD at all. Am I missing a step perhaps?

Also, I tried to find a solution. Someone told me to change the split style to auto. I did that and it transferred the file to the hard drive but only 2+ gigs of it made it in a .tmp file. I'm sorry I'm quite lost right now.

a menu comes up automatically when inserting a disc in USBloaderGX, you can mount it (to launch the game from Disc), or Install (to dump the game to HDD).

USBLoaderGX has different dump mode :
Only the game partition (remove update and other partition) <-- Default mode.
Remove update partition (keep Games partition + Other partition)
All partitions

For Smash Brawl, you need to use either the "remove partition" or "all partition" in the Settings>Hdd settings>Partition if you want to play the WiiWare demos.

Note: A user reported that SSBB's additionnal partitions (which contains the wiiWare time-limited demos) wasn't dumped correctly.
Use CfgLoader or wiiflow to dump the game, it will split the ISO in multiple .wbfs files. You can use any USBLoader then to play that game, split files are detected and work as if it was a single file.

1. Open Wii Backup Manager
2. Click the "Add" button followed by "Files.."
3. Navigate to your ISO and open it
4. Now your ISO is listed in the table, click the check box on the left
5. Click the "Transfer" button follow by "WBFS File.."
6. A Browse for Folder window opens, select your games folder on your external (for me it's H:\wbfs)
7. Watch it convert to WBFS File
8. Safely remove, plug into your wii, load up your backup loader, play your game

If it's not transferring correctly I imagine you're using a downloaded iso or such and it may be corrupted. Last time I checked my rip from the disc was over 7GB, also make sure what ever USB Loader you're using is set to rip the disc either 1:1, rip all partitions or to rip everything but the Update partition (Game and Other). Otherwise you may not be able to play the Subspace Emissary and the cutscenes may not play or the game may freeze when cutscenes are supposed to play.

Like others have said, Wii Backup Manager is the best option. You should use that for transferring every game, as it converts them to the WBFS format which makes the files smaller so you can fit more games on the HDD (or more other things)

none of what you said work but in case this does:

1) split the 7GB GAMEID.wbfs file with 7zip
2) rename the GAMEID.wbfs.001 into GAMEID.wbfs
3) rename the GAMEID.wbfs.002 into GAMEID.wbf1
4) copy them into the wbfs/GameName [GamieId]/ folder

Enjoy.
