Was wondering if I bought a n64 s-video cable from japan, would it work in my american n64? I just got this system and want a working s-video cable and found an official cable shipping from japan. I'm assuming they are universal but I want to be sure and google isn't helping

well I'm not big on spending 50 bucks for a cable but these are rare so I guess I'll get em. it's a shame nobody makes them though.
I'd buy a 3rd party cable if you can. The cable themselves are cheap used and there wouldn't be a point to buying them for... $50?! geeze!

from what I hear many 3rd party cables just send composite through s-video which causes visual discrepancies. the only sure fire way to make sure I'm getting what I want is first party or monster, unless someone has a recommendation that they know works

The s video I got worked just fine but it was combined with a PS/2 and original xbox connector too. I'd recommend it but I have no idea what brand it was, possibly madcatz? I tried it out on SNES, N64 and my PS1, worked fine and looked better than the typical cords. However there's no telling if you'd have the same luck.
