Completed the 3DS version today, took me 11 hours, wiiu version will be 20-25 hours.

it'll be longer than that i've been playing for a week and 3 days 4 to 4 and half hours a day (that's all the gamepad lasts) and i'm only at 46% complete

Is that accurate? When you check the police station I think, you can check how many hours you've played.
I didn't fully complete the 3ds version, I'm at 33%

i found a trick to get into the back of the prison earlier:
i think you need the fall rescue active though? fly over to the back than fly into the back building until the chopper explodes. you'll re-spawn inside the prison. this trick also works on top of buildings if you explode up there into something you'll spawn on top of the building

And bought a lot of characters.

Ya I got it. I was wondering what the hell the red bricks and everything was for. I had to google it on what to do with them. I didn't know you had to go back to the Police Station to buy it.

You buy everything you find in the police station, so I suggest you get all the stud multipliers.

red bricks are cheat codes but instead of typing them in you find and buy them to activate

yeah and you can stack them too you'll need them so you can buy the last of the gold bricks and their ridiculously expensive
