If you don't have a PSP and have some extra money laying around, I would suggest you to buy a PSP and use Picodrive, I doubt DSTWO will have Sega Genesis emulator as decent as Picodrive for PSP, you could also get a PSP Sega Genesis Collection for a very cheap price(I paid $4,99 at Amazon).
I have a PSP. The battery life is ass and my analog stick refuses to work. My 3ds can run practically everything (excluding just N64 now at this point since DS2Linux can play PS1) the PSP can not to mention the wonderful battery life it has in comparison. The only thing imo thats poopy to play on my DSTWO is Genesis. I really wish my PSP was working, id be using it right this second...

The frame rate on the emulator for Sonic 3 bothers me so much, that I can't even play it. Not to mention Sonic classic collection DS is a terrible port too.

gawd I wish the source for DSTwo Linux was available, so we could get some proper scaling for 256x192.
So, yeah, just sayin' there is a Picodrive for Dingoo that runs on the DStwo's Dingux port, but scaling looks like garbage, or you lose the video edges by zooming to 320x240.
Just tried out Sonic & Knuckles. Booted and plays fine enough.

edit: played a couple of cd games, and Earthworm Jim and Robo Aleste both run, albeit a bit choppy- tho i didnt mess with any setting to optimize.
I've messed around with the DS2Linux and it looks so awful I couldnt even read the menus to load ROMs from EMUs. Theres a lot of potential for great emulators to be made accessible. Looking forward to your test results.

I got focused and tinkered with the DStwo Linux beta for a while, so i was able to pimp it a bit by skinning it with an english theme and customized the paths to boot my stuff- sooo much nicer to navigate than the default z4 chinese theme that comes w/the beta.

Anyhow, at work today i played with the Picodrive settings (which was a massive hassle due to the weirdo button mapping in the config screen) which made the CD version of EW Jim very playable using; fast renderer, CPU @ 428Mhz, frameskip 2 (tho i found that frameskip 1 works nicely too), audio at 44100Hz stereo. I used my 3DS to make a quick vid of it running on my DSiXL.

Pretty impressive considering theres been no optimizations for it to run better on the supercard. Hopefully the DSLinux guy will come back sometime soon and release that source code.

I suggested this to Nebuleon a couple weeks ago. jEnesisDS works pretty well considering, but a native DSTWO emulator could be much better.
I guess they may have a go at it once the main work on TempGBA is complete. That's going to take a few months considering Nebuleon is rewriting the dynarec right now :P
But if anyone could do it, it would be them.

Please don't publicly commit me to anything I didn't publicly commit myself to.

Thanks.

Well, I suck at implementing emulators afresh. I'm probably not going to do a Genesis emulator.

And the new dynarec for the GBA is a thought I entertained, but mostly gave up on.

Is the Genesis emulator for DS implemented in ARM assembly? C? What are its assumptions as far as disc size, read speed, access time, etc. are concerned?

Isn't that what you guys did with jPSP->TEMPGBA before you got the source code? I think the PSP Genesis emu is open source, but I'm not going to be annoying and request other people to things they don't care about.

Has anyone here tried Sonic CD?

yuppers, played some today and the game runs good, but the audio is a lil stuttery and weird sounding (with all the CD Picodrive games I've tried, actually). There's a toggle for 'fast render' and 'accurate render'...plays better with the 'fast', but then I lose the water graphics.

Ah that's too bad. I'd assumed that the Dingoo source would be all MIPS styley and such, seeing as the dingoo is MIPS oriented, too.

I assumed that as well. I would use the dslinux on my ds2 to use the genesis emulator if it wasnt such a pain to set up in english and function properly. Hopefully a developer will gain interest in bettering the genesis experience on DSTWO. Just a matter of time imo.

Are there not any Genesis and Sega CD emulators on the PSP (specifically for PSP, not dingux) that use MIPS code?
Picodrive is the only Genesis emulator I remember anybody using/talking about for the PSP. Their might be, but I don't know how well its compatibility is. It seems their is a lot of interest in this topic.. Hoping my thread will grab someones attention out there <3 but a man can dream.
