I had no idea there was such a problem for categories although I doubt it's related to categories and more to the cover loading and display. I will have to check this out. try r866 or r849 in the meantime
Thanks! I'll check them out and let you know.

Just checked r849 and it happens there when in a category but also viewing all.

It does appear a bit faster in a category though. To see it I switched to the inside the barrel layout (3-up) and just sat on the right arrow button on the Wiimote controller until it started to show the Loading message in place of the icon. Then I just held it for about 30 seconds and it finally stopped trying to catch up and showing newly loaded cover images. There is some disk activity but nothing is changing on the screen.

I can scroll left or right but the second I try to go into a game or click on any icon it freezes up.

If I press reset it code dumps.

if you went all the way back to 4.1 then my suggestions won't work cause they are after 4.1 but since it's still does it with 4.1 then it might not be related to wiiflow. Are you deleting all your wfc (cover image cache) files? I would backup you wiiflow/cache folder and delete it entirely and then start wiiflow to re create it. It will take some time since you have such a large amount of games and move slowly thru your lists. you should only have to do this once.

I didn't know we should have to delete the cache but will try that with the latest rev and see if that fixes it.

Thanks!

edit: Is there a way to create the wfc files offline? After a couple of hundred it keeps on freezing up.

you don't have to. It's just a stab at what your problem might be. You might have some corrupt .wfc files in your cache and then again you might not. Otherwise I really have no clue. sorry

I went through and it took a few reboots but I got all the wfc's recreated.

Same problem... if I hold down the arrow for 30 seconds or so it eventually gets to a point where the covers don't refresh but just show the loading icon and the system freezes if I try clicking on anything or press home to exit. This was without using any categories. If I use categories it similarly happens so I don't think the category code has anything to do with it.

Is there any way to log memory use to help track this down?

I have the same problem that bostonBC. I have to downgrade to wiiflow v4.0.5 and the issue disappeared. It's happens after few seconds when you scroll quickly with the right or left screen arrow button (same time you hold B button on it).

So I got my wiiflow running perfectly, loading games off my SD with DML, and I got AR codes working with it as well. The problem now is that when I turn off ocarina in the global settings and set it to default in my game settings and go to my game, the cheats will not be on when I start, but then they suddenly kick in a few seconds into the game. I'm only using an infinite shield code, but even if it's deactivated, the shields will act normal in the beginning and then just become infinite again. I don't know what to do :o

Think I found a bug in 883. Booted up an emulator (fceugx) when I try to return to wiiflow, I'm cast into an infinite cycle of dump and reload. If I power down, wiiflow boots up normal, and I can do it all over again!

What a wonderful thing emuflow is! It can turn the Wii in some sort of virtual-retro museum!
It's only a bit hard to configure, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find great satisfaction.
Is it possible to use C64-network.org (frodo) with source menu? If yes, how does it handle disk side change?

Yeah looks/sounds very useful though I don't have much experience with emu flow to date.

I just hope future versions will allow the user to set paths up so we can use wiiflows front end with emulators that have arg support built into them (like R.A) without needing to move the dol from apps.
That is all thats on my wishlist, ill be all over emu flow. :)

I don't think it does, but the WiiFlow loading time will increase if I'm not mistaking.
^ that and it will take up less space.
Well the longer load time will be an unfortunate side effect but I'm starting to run out of space on my FAT32 partition so if it saves space w/o degrading image quality that's exactly what I'm looking for, and will be a viable option probably sometime in the near future. Especially when MS and TOW420 drop their SNES set. :) thanks guys.

haven't used it myself yet so can't answer the second part of your question but AbdallahTerro made a pack of most new plugins that weren't included in the official WiiFlow download yet and Frodo is one of them.

but since his mediafire account is down I re-upped it here

until he can convince mediafire to release his account.
After that it's just a matter of adding the magic number you find in the INI for the plugin to one of the unused buttons in your source_menu.ini file and it should work.

Thank you I didn't know about it. I've got a question:
Can you please tell me the difference between plugins and original .dol files?
Because I managed to put fba in the source menu by just copying the original fba.dol from Retroarch and pasting it in the plugins/retroarch folder, then creating a fba.ini with magic number and updating source_menu.ini accordingly. It works perfectly, but it's not a modified dol, it's the original. Maybe I didn't understand the whole plugin thing very well.

With retroarch, at least this most recent version, they're exactly the same since retroarch basically uses a plugin system, too, to get things running. WiiFlow is just borrowing their already existing plugins.

Most of the other plugins (except for the Saturn ... and maybe mPlayer ... which already had that feature) had to be slightly modified to add the ability to use them as a plugin ... even then, a lot (but not all) of the plugins WILL work the other way around, you can just name them "boot.dol" and put them in a folder in the apps folder and run them as the original app.

Thanks, now I understand why it worked with fba. Btw I used the fba.dol from Ra 0.9.8.3.1, wich still had CPS1/2/Neo Geo drivers built in, so in Wiiflow it takes only one icon space for 3 systems! Very nice.:yaywii:
Edit: And here is the icon I'm using if anyone's interested

fba.png

nice icon. :yay:

for those that don't have a single icon like that you can also put multiple magic numbers separated by commas on the magic= setting for the button in source_menu.ini
Something like this
magic=11111111,22222222,33333333
for it to mix them together when they're not really in the same plugin.
