As the title says. Sometimes it will boot up without problem and let me play my games, but other times (more often than not) the 3ds will go to the error occurred screen. My 3ds does recognize my cartridge as alex rider, both the eos and firmware are up to date, and i have looked seemingly everywhere for help...

clean your shit with a qtip. open the card and clean the contacts. make sure you properly seat it in the 3ds. if that doesn't work remove the card from the 3ds and place it back in until it does.

Thanks for your super polite reply. My equipment is clean (3ds is little over a week old) and i rechecked anyway.

physically open the card with a small screw driver. wipe off the contacts on the card. reseat it in the casing, close and put back in 3ds.

Is this an issue that s exclusive to the 3ds, or does it decide not to boot up correctly most of the time on the DS also? I don't have a standard ds anymore to verify.

It's a recent problem. The DSTWO isn't recognized/error out when inserted in a 3DS/XL but works fine in older models. Unfortunately the build quality of recent DSTWOs are abysmal, specially when you consider the price they go for in the market. Mine decided to stop working with my 3DS about a week ago (still perfect with my DS Lite) and since then I've been tinkering with it.

Ah. Well, I think I will just buy a DS lite (or a DSi, or does that have the same issues?) for it then. Sucks i cant carry MK7 + my library of 50+ DS games on the same device, though :|

I must agree on the build quality though... I think I could of made one better if i had a parts list. The srping loaded SD slot was annoying, I removed that at least.

So, as I understand it, recently made DSTWOs have trouble getting recognized?

Only in the 3DS and 3DS XL, yes. The card is recognised just fine in the DS (phat), DS Lite and DSi models at least. Not sure about the DSi XL.

A lot of threads were created in the past 1 or 2 months about the issues on the 3DS. The replies telling you to check the contacts are because of that proliferation of threads.

A thread on the Supercard Forum offers a list of things to try when you are affected by the problem, but if all fails, the only solution is to get the Supercard DSTwo replaced and tested in your 3DS model by the seller.
