Man now I want to get Mine Craft for PC.
You should. The fact that you can download immense amounts of custom maps is a big upside. The ease of expanding your playstyles--without depending upon the developer alone--is a huge incentive.

It's one of the big pros of getting into PC gaming in the first place. The amount of control and influence the player has on their own experience, less mediated than by consoles, is just beautiful.

As a temporary solution, you can pirate it or (if it ever got released, can't remember) play the demo. I endorse pirating it, simply because it's why I bought it. Best money I've spent on a game. Big games that cost tons of money don't exactly provide as much entertainment.

Yay command blocks.

2013_02_08_08_24_41.png

The buttons feed into two of them per purchase, one takes the EXP and the other gives the item (both checking for the right minimum level).
/give @p[r=2,lm=1] 2 1
/xp -1l @p[r=3,lm=1]
Like that.

Both of them are below the light square, with a radius such that you need to be standing on the light square for the purchase to work (to partially prevent griefing when players AFK in the shops). The block right below the light square has a search radius of 2, and the one below that searches for 3. I know the blocks can be manually given coordinates to center the search, but this is more easily moved around, with the commands copy-pasted to each other.

Do note that pirated copies can't play on servers unless the servers are set to offline-mode... which is really simple to do, but it also means anybody can bypass OP checks, so all the cool public servers are in online-mode.
Or combine it with something like AuthMe. That's how I ran my server.

If the concern is people logging in with whatever name when the server is in offline-mode, this is used to make sure only the people you know join?
Don't quite get what you mean. AuthMe forces new users to register with a password then login with it every time they join. Very useful in offline-mode to stop people logging in as others or admins using a cracked launcher. Anyone can still join the server though, providing you publicise the IP address.

My question was if this was personal authentication for offline-mode servers.
And I assume build permissions are done once logged on.

So... after reading the first post and being utterly confused, can someone please tell me the server ip for the official GBATemp Minecraft server? Or does it not exist and I gotta pick from the 5 that the OP put?

Quick question: Does anyone know what enchanted books are obtainable from enchanting?
I had a look around and on the wiki but there was no information pertaining to the question.

What I mean is: You can get books like: Silk touch 1 and Fire Aspect 1. Can anyone list all the enchanted books that can be obtained by enchanting them?
Also @Rydian 21,888 posts. God damn it, get off GBAtemp once in a while ;)

I really hope the whole "drop the player's head when they get PvP'd" thing gets added to vanilla. I mean it's functional (outside of the item/inventory graphic), they just don't drop right now.
Although it's not in Vanilla..yet.... Some servers do have a plugin that gives you a rare chance of getting a players skull drop
I believe on jcvsmc.com server there's a 0.2% chance of getting a player head in PvP - Since I suck at PvP - I've not got any :(

Yeah I've seen screenshots with WALLS of heads... the current issue is vanilla doesn't grab the tag compound off the item once it's been placed, so if you place it and then break it it reverts back to a normal steam head (without the plugin running), part of the reason we need vanilla support.
