oh man, this will get more popular fast :/ could be good... or not ^^

Edit: Did read it just now... who the hell posted the Forum-Page?... Seriously this will be bad if Square thinks "Hey wtf man, what are u doing?". Could be a problem :/

It's just Kotaku. Means little. Especially since we didn't confront them about it in any regard, the article is one of their own design. If it does anything it proves to SE that some people care about Type 0, and that's more powerful a blow then Operation Suzaku and Project Crystallis will likely muster. All in all the combined efforts of all 3 should have some form of impact, an impact that will likely remain unnoticed and unseen, much like the realm the FNC god Bhunivelze(Bunnybelts) resides.

This article is a double-edged sword but it all comes down to what kind of sword it is, is the blade sharp or dull, is it made of silver or cracked wood? Only time can tell...or as I like to say only the crystals know the answer but only share their silent light which is enveloped by Square's darkness.

guys I have not understood one thing: you are working "in secret" (I mean without posting updates on translated things) or are you still waiting for text extraction?

We are not waiting on text extraction. We are working on the project right now.

If Square demands that this project be shut down, will it keep happening in secret? I'd hate everything done so far to be scrapped because of some stupid reporter on Kotaku who contacted SE.

We actually have a pretty active project, making a good progress including text extraction.
We use a different communication method between team members now,
first for efficiency, second to avoid crowding the forum with too many post,
lastly, avoiding the "too many cooks in the kitchen".

I think we do show our progress frequent enough, as you can see with Sky's video.

The most I think they can really do is ask us to take the video down. Since we are not providing any files right now.

Once completed it will be a tool to patch a valid copy of the game.

I'm the GILGAMESH FAN KING, any lore and info on GILGAMESH in this game won't be left alone. So by that alone you can draw your own conclusions.

Edit: If FF GILGAMESH is involved in anything you can be guaranteed I'll go nuts with enthusiasm.

And that is why I hate kotaku... They have almost nothing decent to say and if they do they don't care if it's (kinda) secret or not...

Yea.. kotaku is fucking awful. I really hope that article doesn't end up causing adverse effects to this project.... I also like the part where hes like "I've reached out to Square Enix to ask what they think of this whole thing" ..... hope he doesn't forget to remind the teacher to give us homework this Friday too.

I think Kotaku just got their servers overloaded...;)

Edit:
And maybe we should stop posting over this issue to not get lost among random post instead of seeing the actual progess.
Sorry for this post. :)

I seriously hope this won't affect the project...
O don't worry it will. My advice to the translating people is to stop showing us pictures of the progress. I know that everyone including myself is really excited to see the finish project but "You Know Who" is already or will soon be aware of there progress. Once that occurs without a second though cease-and-desist order will be issued by Square Enix.

O by the way when it comes to just distributing the "patch tool" and nothing else. That won't work either. Please tell me people remember what happen with "Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes".
That was just a patch tool as well and Square got to them as well.

Edit: I am not trying to be disrespectful in any way it just looks kinda hopeless now.

people still have to buy the game to play it with or without a translation patch, If Square don't plan on translating it they may just let it go. however if they shoot it down chances are we may still see an official translation

Your missing the point of what I was saying. "patch tool", "patch tool", "patch tool". I know that SkyBladeCloud is not planning to distribute the rom with the patch. The point is under certain copyright laws it is illegal to modify copyright software. Now games fall into that grey area where it could go either way.

That being said and knowing Square Enix's track record on listening to its fans you can bet that they are going to do everything in there power to prevent this "patch tool" from being released.

If they don't well.... I guess there is a first time for everything but I would not hold my breath.
