Nice sig. ;)

True. Isn't that what happened with the DS? Homebrew developers don't have the tools to make games for the 3DS yet.
yea ,like ps3 the sdk were already leaked(though some devs refused to use them, and opted for inferior psl1ght instead) correct me if im wrong but there are no leaked or any sdk for 3ds yet and ps3 had them before the scene even had a useable exploit

Ewww Emulators on the 3DS? Sounds gross and laggy until way to many verisions come out. Just Try an android N64 Emulator, there are some sweet android gaming devices for pretty damn cheap that look like psvita's and run all emulators.
Alright, doubting emulation capabilities of the 3DS (except n64, that does sound terrible XD). SNES and GBA emulation should work quite well. Plus most phones with android don't have physical buttons or analog sticks unless your on a Xperia play or the emu has Bluetooth support for something like ps3 controller.

why is everyone so against n64 emulation on 3ds jeez you guys don't know if its possible or not
It is possible, but seeing the experience with PSP, and it's comparison with 3DS hardware to make a estimation, It would be VERY difficult. If you want to discuss, make a thread, this will take this entire thread off its rails.

I think this thread has already had a train crash it can't be put back on rails (Sarcasm)

We Don't know the Actual Specs of the 3DS Yet

Those might not be Official Specs
Firstly, we all know that it uses the PICA 200 since its already been officially revealed. Secondly, due to a I fixit takedown, the other specs except the CPU(s, yes, we know for sure we have a dual core/two CPU's since ninty has revealed that there is a second one in a announcement that devs had the ability to disable the OS I. The background for more RAW power). Just from a google search I was able to deduce these things. We have hackers that have kernel access, and they say that they could do whatever they want. I'm pretty sure for the most part they would have changed the info, or will be changing the CPU specs (clocks) shortly.

I don't know about the rest of you, but playing 3DS roms on a 3DS sounds fun and cost-effective to me. For two, the 3DS uses an ARM9 (DS mode) and an ARM11 (3DS mode). Somebody with Kernel-level access needs to dump the NAND, and start getting us decryption keys. Possibly even a signature to fake-sign homebrew with, to appear legit and launchable on OFW. THEN real progress will start.

Kernel access has been done, and people have dumped their NANDs before then, yellow8 and neimod are probably working on decryption currently. Can't wait to backup games (yes really, actually backing up games) and home brew. Hope we can shake of the shell that is the flash cart...

No... Pokemon Black and White 2 (Properly trimmed and AP patched by myself) are only 270MB each. They use flash chips with 512MB of space to hold the 270MB ROM, and the rest of that is empty space to fill the 512MB chip.

Hum, didn't know that, well, living and learning... xD

Those aren't 3DS though... they're DS games that are DSi enhanced also meaning 3DS enhanced since it will run them in DSi mode... They're not 3DS only games... they're just enhanced DS games...

I was saying that if a DS game is 500Mb so we can assume that a 3DS will be bigger, but JayRo made some things clear;

I really doubt that, they released DSi flashcards as well and the SD card slot didn't serve as any purpose on DSi hacking (AFAIK)

Thats because the actual hacking of DSi was limited. DSi Flashcarts that actually used DSi modes kinda died out didn't they? Plus, seeing as the 3DS is being exploited through a save, I have hope that we can finally ditch flash carts already. In my opinion, they are crap compared to a software hack, but others may see differently.

You are all forgeting that the sd card is encrypted and to copy a "hacked" save to the sd card it needs to be encrypted first with your unique key.
To get that unique key you need to dump your device keys (see movable.sed) and thus you MUST have a save dongle (any kind)
with the bought game (unknown yet).

After you did that you will be able to inject whatever you want to the sd card to hack future 3dsware (provided you kept your unique key file)...

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

but that game barely runs at native 4k

I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports

they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
