No. The new thing around here is to claim you're against piracy whilst having a huge number of pirated ROMs and porn movies downloading through uTorrent in the background.
Guess I'm a weirdo then, I don't pirate or whatch that crap. Anyone see anything interesting on 3DBrew?

My philosophy is; corporations make enough money and I'd rather throw my support towards indie developers most of the time.

It's not (U)torrent it's the lowercase letter mu (μ), it should actually be called microtorrent.

On topic-ish: Piracy gets to consoles first because hackers know there's more money in it.

What about an indie developer that goes mainstream? What about that? Also what about a small company making their games just to break it even?

I don't have anything against piracy, if people actually bought some of the games too. :3

Thank you, Mr Pedantic :teach: Everyone knows it's μTorrent, but barely anyone calls it MicroTorrent, muTorrent or any other variation. It was late and I was replying on my phone so looking up the symbol would have been a pain in the arse. Also, even the domain hosting the application is www.utorrent.com, so I think uTorrent is perfectly acceptable to people who aren't concerned with minor details that aren't at all important. :P

Completely true, but calling it microTorrent is a pain in the ass.

You are either a VERY lonely person, or a VERY social person.
Somewhat Social, plus friends. Im clean, and I intend to stay so. Thats just me.

Anyways, I might just pop in the IRC sometime myself, maybe gets some bits of info for myself, I don't plan on posting the log here \unless its something crazy. Im not sure if Neimod/Yellows8 are entirely in it for the money btw.

My guess is it will be CFW. Which will work off the SD slot. Also i dont know if anyone said this already or not... but a micro SD and an adapter wont always work the way you want it to. Sometimes things dont really work that way.

If i have to buy another flash cart... :/

OP has a simple topic title, asking a simple question which has a simple answer. The answer is, of course, "we don't know". Don't get me wrong, the OP has done nothing incorrect. He just wasn't aware that nobody knows the answer yet.

But...

*low ominous rumble*

Wha...what is that?

*ominous rumble grows louder*

Dear God...it's a horde of anti-pirates! Run! Run! This thread is going down!

why is everyone so against n64 emulation on 3ds jeez you guys don't know if its possible or not

Actually, it is possible that the 3DS will be much worse than the PSP in emulating PSone and N64. The PSP used a MIPS processor (unless my memory fails me), so it didn't have to recompile code from another cpu architecture. It still had to translate between system calls etc, but this is far less taxing on the cpu overall. 3DS uses ARM instruction set, so even with both of its cores used 100% it will probably be slower. It WILL be faster in emulating other consoles though...

We won't get a CFW soon. We'll have to boot the game. That means: No CFW, no flashcard but a 3DS cartridge with a special save file.

I don't think that PSP is that much better suited to N64 emulation. The CPU(s) in the PSP are 32 bit MIPS, the CPU of the N64 was 64 bit. But at least both are from the R4k family from the MIPS architecture, so at least it is similar enough that a "translation" is not too complex. And I am not sure if the N64 did use the whole 64 bit memory bandwidth, so it could be really easy.
But the CPU and GPU of the 3DS should be powerful enough to emulate N64 games, if the emulator is programmed "good enough" and it will be able to access the hardware on a rather low level.

It is well known that most of N64 software used 32-bit mode which was faster, and used only a few 64-bit instructions. Most emulators emulate 32-bit mode for speed and just trap the rare 64-bit call... N64 was actually almost a 32-bit console, despite tha name...
